Removal of Work


Each work is insured to a reasonable amount while turned over to the care of the Shirt Factory Gallery. Items will be handled with the utmost care; however, Shirt Factory Gallery will not be held liable for damage as a result of workmanship or design. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the Gallery and for insuring work while in transit. Artists are also responsible for providing work that is sturdy and durable for necessary hanging purposes.

July 6 - 7, 2019 - Hand delivery to Shirt Factory Gallery 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm

July 10, 2019 - Show opens

July 20, 2019 - Reception & Awards Presentation: 5:00 - 8:00 pm

August 10, 2019 - Show closes, Pick up work: 4:00 - 6:00 pm

August 12, 2019 - Return art shipped out

Eligible Work

This is an open call opportunity for any artist working in soft pastel.

    Other guidelines include:
  • Work must be ready to hang, work not ready to hang may not be included in show.
  • Artists are encouraged to attend the reception.
  • Original pastel artwork only.
  • All submissions must be for sale.
  • is not larger than 48" in any direction, framed size.

Image Specifications

All images must be high quality jpeg (jpg) image files. Set your camera to the highest possible quality image, use good lighting on your painting without any glass in front of it, and use a tripod for your camera. Once the photo is taken, you must crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual painting; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the painting itself. Please save at 300 dpi resolution, with a size of 900 pixels on the longer side of the image (i.e. for a horizontal format, the width should be 900 pixels; for vertical format, the height will be 900 pixels; for a square format both dimensions are 900 pixels.). The upload system will not accept very large files, so you must reduce the native image size to these specifications.

Filename Instructions

Adjust your filenames BEFORE you begin the entry process!

Image File Naming Protocol

Use your name and the title of your painting without any spaces, special characters or punctuation marks. Use this protocol: Lastname_FirstInitial_TitleOfPainting.jpg. Be sure the file name ends with .jpg

For example: Artist = Abraham Lincoln, Title "The White House's Paint" = Lincoln_A_TheWhiteHousesPaint.jpg

Shorten long titles in the filename, please, and remove all spaces, special characters and quotation marks.

Please Note: When completing the Entry Form, type in the actual painting title as you want it to appear in the show catalog.

For example: The White House's Paint

Fee Structure

Limit: 3 images entered per artist.

Entry fee is non-refundable.

1 or 2 images $30, 3 images $40

Accepted Work: Notification, Receiving, Shipping

Artists will receive a notification email in the week of May 29, 2019. Artists whose work is juried into the show will receive additional information.

Note: If an accepted painting is not delivered by the required date of the show there will be a 1 year ban imposed from entering any additional APS Exhibition.

RECEIVING DATE: All hand-delivered work must be delivered Shirt Factory Gallery Friday, July 6, Saturday, July 7.between 12 noon and 5 p.m.

Shipped works are due July 5, 2018 or sooner. There is a $20.00 handling fee per artist for all shipped work. Shipped entries must include return shipping paid for by the artist. All shipping is the responsibility of the artist.


The artist will receive 65% of the sale price of all work sold.

No POR, no NFS. All work must be for sale.

Removal of Work

All unsold HAND-DELIVERED paintings must be retrieved on Saturday, August 10 between 4:00 and 6:00 pm.
