The information you will be required to submit is similar to what was required on previous PSNM entry forms. Entry Fee may be paid using a credit/debit card or a PayPal account, using our secure checkout system.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The entry system will not allow you to add, change or delete images once you have paid for your entry. With payment, the entry is considered complete.

LIABILITY AGREEMENT

All reasonable care will be taken with paintings. However, neither PSNM, its officers or volunteers; Sorrel Sky Gallery and its employees; nor employees of shipping agent shall be held responsible for loss or damage. PSNM strongly recommends that artists carry independent insurance. If you rely on shipper's or carrier's insurance, be certain you understand their policies.
  • Each exhibiting artist will receive a show catalog.
  • PSNM reserves the right to reproduce accepted artwork for publicity purposes.
  • PSNM reserves the right to reject work deemed unsuitable for public viewing.
  • All accepted work (no substitutes) must be framed and delivered or shipped as specified in the prospectus.
If accepted work is not available for the exhibition, the artist must pay PSNM a 30% commission on the stated sales price. The artist will also be prohibited from exhibiting in PSNM shows for the next 13 months.

Eligible Work

Open to all artists over the age of 18, without regard to geographic location.
  • ORIGINAL ARTWORK ONLY. Source material must be available to PSNM upon request.
  • All work must be at least 80% soft pastel.
  • All work must be for sale.
  • Minimum sale price: $500.00. Artist will receive 50% of sale price.
  • MINIMUM PAINTING dimensions: 8" x 10" (or 80 sq. in.)
  • MAXIMUM FRAME dimensions: 48" in either direction
  • IMPORTANT: See the prospectus for specific framing requirements.

NON-ELIGIBLE WORK (based on PSA guidelines) includes: Paintings done in a school, school-monitored studio or workshop, or under instructor supervision; Copied from photographs taken by someone other than the artist without written authorization from the photographer; Copied from published photographs, compositions from published sources or based on another artist's work; Works painted over a mechanical print; Copies or reproductions; Work older than two years; Work which has previously won a national award; Collaborative work; Work previously accepted by a PSNM National Show.

Paintings not adhering to these criteria will be rejected.

Image Specifications

All images must be high quality jpeg (jpg) image files. Set your camera to the highest possible quality image, use good lighting on your painting without any glass in front of it, and use a tripod for your camera. Once the photo is taken, you must crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual painting; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the painting itself. Please save at 300 dpi resolution, with a size of 900 pixels on the longer side of the image (i.e. for a horizontal format, the width should be 900 pixels; for vertical format, the height will be 900 pixels; for a square format both dimensions are 900 pixels.). The upload system will not accept very large files, so you must reduce the native image size to these specifications.

Filename Instructions

Image File Naming Protocol

Use the title of your painting without any spaces or punctuation marks. Be sure the file name ends with .jpg

For example: Title "The White House's Paint" = TheWhiteHousesPaint.jpg

Shorten long titles in the filename, please, and remove all spaces and quotation marks.

Please Note: When completing the Entry Form, type in the actual painting title as you want it to appear in the show catalog.

Fee Structure

Limit: 3 images entered per artist

Entry fee is non-refundable and must arrive by Friday, Dec 1, 2017 (see below).

PSNM Members: $40 for 1-3 digital images. 2017 dues must be paid before you enter

Non-members: $45 for 1-3 digital images.

NOTE: Only artists who are PSNM members at the time they submit their entry for the show may accrue points toward Signature Membership. Non-members may join PSNM prior to paying show entry fee by completing Membership Application at: www.pastelsnm.org and paying annual dues with a credit card via PayPal.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:
1) Entry fee is paid by credit card/debit or PayPal account at the conclusion of the online entry process.
2) by check payable to PSNM mailed to: PSNM, PO Box 3571, Albuquerque, NM 87190. CHECKS MUST ARRIVE AT PSNM by Friday, Dec 1, 2017.

Incomplete entries will be disqualified.

Notification will be sent by email on January 12, 2018.

Accepted Work: Notification, Receiving, Shipping

Artists will receive a notification email by Friday, January 12, 2018. The acceptance message will include a pdf attachment providing painting labels and forms, which you will need to print and complete, plus detailed instructions regarding framing, delivery, shipping and handling.


RECEIVING DATE: All hand-delivered work must be delivered to Sorrel Sky Gallery, 125 W. Palace Ave., Santa Fe on Friday, Feb. 23 or Saturday, Feb. 24.

SHIPPED WORK: Shipped work must arrive between Wednesday, Feb. 14 and Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018

Sales

The artist will receive 50% of the sale price of all work sold.

No POR, no NFS. All work must by for sale.

Removal of Work

All unsold HAND-DELIVERED paintings must be retrieved from Sorrel Sky Gallery by the Artist, or their representative, on Monday, Apr. 2, 2018.
