Entry Fees

$40 for one work, or $10 for each additional work up to 4.
Maximum 4 works per artist.
Diptych counts as two pieces.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Open to ALL South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia residents.
  • Original painting or photography artwork completed within the past two years is eligible.
  • Submissions should not have been previously displayed in a CAG show.
  • Maximum art size including frames 38” w x 48” h. Minimum art size including frame is 8” w x 10 “ h or 8” h x 10” w.
  • Workshop or class produced art is ineligible for entry.
  • This Spring Show is for visual artwork on the painting and photography spectrum. 3D, sculpture, fiber, crafts, or other forms of decorative arts are not eligible for entry.

    Original work shall comply with the following criteria:
  1. The work is the artist’s original creation and is not in whole or in part, a copy of any other person’s work or photograph.
  2. The work was created solely by the artist and not under supervision of an instructor.
  3. The work is not a photographic computer generated or other form of electronically generated work.
  4. Artificial Intelligence, “AI” enhanced or created art and photography is prohibited from entry into the Show.
  5. Photographs must be original work.

    Images may be displayed on any professional medium (professional papers, canvas, metal, wood, acrylic) and must be printed to industry standards.

    Images are allowed to be cropped, rotated, selective dodge and burn, reduce noise, sharpened, adjust color/black-and-white, apply grain, as well as basic retouching. Photo stitching, focus stacking, multi-exposure, etc., is allowed as long as it is shot at the same time and in the same place as a consecutive sequence, seconds or minutes apart. It is NOT allowed to add or move elements by cloning, healing, patching, content-aware fill, liquefy, or similar tools.

Judging

  1. Three jurors will review the entries for acceptance into the show. There will be NO refund to entrants, whose work is not accepted in the show.
  2. Accepted paintings will be judged by Silvia Belviso Blair
  3. Accepted photography will be judged by John Herrel.

Rules for Entry

Each entry of the proposed artwork is to be:
  1. Uploaded using the ShowSubmit portal.
  2. Fully representative of the work you would like to show in the online exhibit.
  3. Professionally cropped.
  4. Shown without frame, mat, glass, or background visible.
  5. Presented with the image right side up and not blurry.
  • List sizes up to the nearest inch.
  • Entries can’t be changed after entry.
  • All works must be wired to gallery standards and must meet professional presentation standards as interpreted by the CAG Show Committee.
  • Accepted works cannot be substituted and must be available for the duration of the Show.
  • Title and dimensions of entered work cannot be changed.

Sales

All work must be for sale. The artist agrees to the terms of the attached CAG “Special Events Contract - Conditional Sales Agreement”. The artist agrees to sell, for resale, artwork to the Guild at the price listed on the entry form by the artist for each piece of artwork. The Guild, upon sale of the artwork, agrees to pay the artist the price listed on the artwork, less a 10% donation of that price to the Guild which the artist agrees to pay to the Guild to support the non-profit Mission of the Charleston Artist Guild.

Shipping

Artwork will be packed and shipped through QuickMail, CAG’s affiliated shipping service. The buyer will pay for the shipping of the artwork at regular QuickMail prices. QuickMail provides insurance for the artwork in the shipping cost.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on April 13, 2026.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (April 3, 2026.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
