This annual exhibition is a signature event for the Scottsdale Artists League (SAL). It is open to all Arizona residents, and membership in SAL is not required. NEW! LARGER Exhibit Space and LONGER Exhibit! The show’s award-winning paintings will be displayed at Canopy by Hilton Hotel (March 5-30, 2026) and online via Scottsdaleartistsleague.com (March 5 - May 31, 2026). All accepted art will be promoted heavily on Social Media and through various websites.

The Scottsdale Gallery Association’s (SGA’s) Gold Palette ArtWalks are offered throughout the year in addition to the SGA’s weekly Thursday evening ArtWalks and feature extended gallery hours, special activities and experiences for attendees such as complimentary wine tasting and/or small bites, and live music and entertainment that align with each event’s theme. This exhibit will be held during the SGA’s March Gold Palette Walk and Scottsdale's design week, ensuring a large art patron audience is in attendance. Canopy by Hilton is directly across the street from the Western Spirit Museum and within walking distance of several prestigious galleries with international followings.

Our Award of Excellence Artists will be showcased in person at the Canopy by Hilton Hotel. Additional awards will be announced opening night. All pieces remain on display through Tuesday, March 31, 2026, 10-11 am.

Exhibit can be viewed daily in Canopy by Hilton Lobby.

Entry Fees

  • SAL Members: $35 for up to 3 works
    Not a SAL Member? Join now!
  • Non-Members: $35 for 1 work. $5 for each additional up to 3 total works.
Entrants must apply and pay online at www.showsubmit.com. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Exhibition Requirements

  • The artist must be 18 (or over) and a current resident of the State of Arizona. Part-time Arizona residents are eligible to participate.
  • Submitted artwork must be original 2D works in concept and design, made solely by the artist.
  • Must have been created within the past 2 years.
  • Show Theme: Southwest
  • All visual art media are accepted.
  • Artwork must be submitted as digital JPEG images. Submit only one image per piece of artwork. The image shall be of the art only (no frames shown).
  • Two-dimensional work must not be less than 11 inches and not greater than 40 inches on any side (including frame).
  • Art must be adequately wired and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers). The hanging wire must be placed no more than one-quarter of the way from the top of the frame. Artwork with frames considered below minimal gallery standards will not be displayed.
  • Mats must be neutral in color, clean, and professional in presentation.
  • Gallery wraps are acceptable provided they are at least 1-1/2 inches deep and are finished on all four sides—weight limit of 25 pounds.
  • Artwork shall be priced and available for sale (no NFS). Consider in your pricing that Scottsdale Art League Commission is 30% of the sale price.
  • SAL handles all sales. Buyers will be allowed to take work at the time of purchase.
  • Accepted artwork must be clearly labeled with the artist’s name, title of artwork, medium, year of completion, dimensions, and price on the back of the piece.
  • Complex installation pieces may not be accepted for display.
  • All applicants may submit a brief bio or artist statement with their submission; 250 characters maximum.
The artist retains copyright to the artwork; however, the Scottsdale Artists League reserves the right to photograph and publish images of the artwork for promotion for this exhibition and future exhibitions. Sales

  • Artwork shall be priced and available for sale (no NFS). Consider in your pricing that Scottsdale Art League Commission is 30% of the sale price.
  • SAL handles all sales. Buyers will be allowed to take work at the time of purchase.

Terms

By submitting artwork to this exhibition, the artist agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Scottsdale Artists League, its members, officers, and Canopy by Hilton Hotel, its employees and agents from any liability of loss, damage, or injury sustained during the exhibition or in transit. Artists are responsible for insuring their own work.

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on February 27, 2026.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (February 20, 2026.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
