The Evendale Cultural Arts Center (ECAC) is honored to celebrate the diverse and talented artists living or working within a 50-mile radius of Evendale. ECAC warmly encourages artists to participate in the 2026 Evendale Fine Art Exhibit, one of the region’s premier juried fine art exhibitions.

Artist eligibility

  • Open to artists 21 years and older living or working within a 50-mile radius of Evendale, Ohio (10500 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45241).
  • All fine art disciplines are encouraged.
  • Eligible media: paintings (oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel), sketches, etchings, and sculpture.
  • Not eligible: photography or manipulated photography, digital art, painted giclée prints, or reproductions of any kind.

Entry process

  • All entries must be submitted online via ShowSubmit.
  • ShowSubmit provides application guidance and technical support throughout the submission process.

Submission Guidelines

  • Artists may submit up to five (5) works; up to three (3) may be accepted.
  • All artwork must be original, created entirely by the artist from conception to completion.
  • Work copied from other artists, published photographs, or photographs taken by someone other than the artist will not be accepted.
  • As the exhibit is held in a family recreation center, all artwork will be evaluated for appropriateness.
  • Digital images must be uploaded to ShowSubmit by Monday, March 9, 2026.
  • Entries submitted without fees or after the deadline will not be eligible.

Entry fees

Early Bird (through Monday, March 2, 2026):
  • $25 for first image
  • $5 for each additional image (up to 5 total)
Standard (March 3 – Monday, March 9, 2026):
  • $40 for first image
  • $15 for each additional image (up to 5 total)
Evendale Residents:
  • Evendale residents who complete their submission by the Early Bird deadline may enter free of charge.

Notification & Art Delivery

Artists will be notified by email and through their ShowSubmit account once the jury process is complete. Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered to the Evendale Recreation Center during scheduled delivery times. Please contact ECAC in advance to arrange an earlier drop-off if needed.

Preparation of accepted artwork

  • Artwork must be manageable by one person.
  • Maximum size: 36" x 36" (without special approval).
  • Maximum weight for wall-hung work: 20 pounds.
  • All framed work must be properly wired — no sawtooth hangers.
  • Museum-wrapped canvas must be 1¼" or wider with finished edges.
  • Unsuitable or damaged framing may result in disqualification.
  • Labels must be securely attached to the back or bottom of the work and include: artist name, title, medium, price, and email address.
  • Watercolor and pastel works should be framed with plexiglass; works larger than 12" x 16" must use plexiglass.

Liability & Responsibility

All accepted artwork must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show. While reasonable care will be taken, the Village of Evendale and its volunteers cannot be held responsible for loss or damage. Artists who wish to insure their work must make their own arrangements.

Sales

  • Artists are encouraged to offer work for sale.
  • Unpriced work will be marked “Not for Sale.”
  • ECAC will retain a 10% processing fee for sales made via credit card through the Village of Evendale.
  • No commission is taken on sales completed directly between the artist and buyer.
  • The Village of Evendale is not responsible for sales tax.
  • Sold artwork must remain on display until the exhibit closes on Monday.

Awards

  • Best in Show: $500 and a One-Person Exhibit at ECAC (dates mutually agreed upon)
  • Second Place: $350
  • Third Place: $200
  • Three Honorable Mentions: $75 each

Juror

John Lanzador

John Lanzador is a Filipino-born, Cincinnati-based artist, designer, and former art educator with more than 33 years of teaching experience. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (UC-DAAP) and brings a strong academic foundation to his artistic practice.

Working across painting, printmaking, and woodcarving, Lanzador’s work blends cultural influences, visual storytelling, and refined craftsmanship. His practice reflects both contemporary and traditional approaches, drawing inspiration from nature, illustration, and cross-cultural imagery.

Lanzador is deeply engaged in community-based art and has collaborated extensively with organizations such as ArtWorks and Visionaries + Voices. In 2024, he served as Artist in Residence at the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Rosenthal Education Center, where he created interactive installations and led public workshops designed to make art accessible and engaging for audiences of all ages.

His work has been widely recognized, including being named a Recipient of ArtsWave’s 2025 B&B Artists Grant and CityBeat’s 2025 Best Gallery Exhibit. With decades of teaching experience, institutional recognition, and professional accolades, Lanzador brings a thoughtful, discerning, and well-rounded perspective to his role as juror for the Evendale Fine Art Exhibit.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on March 20, 2026.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (March 9, 2026.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
