Call for Art for Spring 2026 exhibit of two-dimensional artwork at the Colonial Theatre, 111 South Street, Pittsfield, MA.

Eligibility

  • This Show is open to all current members of the Guild of Berkshire Artists.

    Non members must join first at berkshireartists.org/join-renew
  • Only two-dimensional work will be accepted.
  • All styles, subject matter, and media are encouraged.
  • There is a limit of three works per artist for submissions.
  • Please note dimension requirements: no more than 40" in height; no less than 20" in width.
  • Any work not meeting the exhibition or juror’s standards will not be accepted.
  • Photography must be part of a numbered series and not printed on canvas.
The Guild reserves the right to accept or reject any of the work submitted.

Entry Fee

  • $20 per artist.
  • You may submit up to 3 works.
Entry fees are not refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. Entries cannot be made past the deadline. No changes can be made after the entry deadline.

Sales

All sales are facilitated by the Colonial Theatre. They pay artists directly and handle the MA state sales tax. The Colonial Theatre takes 20% for their education programs, and 10% goes to the Guild of Berkshire Artists. The Guild of Berkshire Artists and the Colonial Theatre are non-profit organizations.

Expectations

  1. Exhibiting artists are expected to help hang and pick up their work on time or find someone else to do so. The Colonial Theatre does not have storage space to keep art that has not been picked up after the show has been taken down.
  2. Please invite their clients, friends, and family. Post on social media and websites. The Guild will send a show flyer for the artist's use. We sold three pieces in a recent Colonial show.

Hanging Standards

Work must be dry and ready to hang.

Waiver

As a participating artist, I:
  1. Accept that Colonial Theatre, The Berkshire Theatre Group, the Guild of Berkshire Artists, and their board, officers, members, employees, and volunteers are not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to my artwork during setup, transportation, display, and breakdown of this show.
  2. Affirm that I hold the copyright and intellectual property rights for all art I enter in this show.
Submission of this form confirms that you have read and accepted all of the terms for this show.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on June 23, 2026.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (June 16, 2026.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
