Thornhill Art Gallery invites artists to participate in 6" Squared: Season of Giving, a festive winter exhibition celebrating the art of giving. This small works show features original 6"x6" oil, acrylic, mixed media, and encaustic paintings—perfectly sized and priced for holiday gifting. Each piece offers collectors the opportunity to share the joy of fine art in a thoughtful, attainable way.

Eligibility
Open to all artists working in oil, acrylic, mixed media, or encaustic on 1/8" gessoboard panels. All works must measure exactly 6” x 6” (unframed).
Specifications
- Mediums: oil, acrylic, mixed media, encaustic
- Surface: 1/8” gessoboard
- Size: 6” x 6” (no exceptions)
- Do not include any hanging wires or hangers
- Original artwork only — no reproductions or prints
Entry Fee
- $35 per artist for up to 5 entries.
- $5 each additional entry up to 10 entries total.
Entry fees are non refundable.
Sales & Pricing
Sales will be conducted through Thornhill Art Gallery with a 60/40 commission split (artist/gallery).
Shipping
Please provide a pre-paid return shipping label for all shipped entries.
Return of Unsold Work
Unsold works may be picked up after the close of the show on January 30, 2026 from 11am – 4pm. Shipped work will be returned with prepaid labels provided by the artist.
Liability
All reasonable care will be taken for all work. However, Thornhill Art Gallery will not be responsible for loss or damage to paintings. The entry form and payment for this exhibition constitutes an agreement with the above. We recommend artists carry their own insurance. Thornhill Art Gallery reserves the right to exclude from exhibition any artwork deemed offensive.
Image and Filename Specifications
- File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
- Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
- Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
- Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
- File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
- File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.
Additional Entry Information
- You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
- After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (November 17, 2025.)
- Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
- Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
