Laura Pollak is an award-winning artist exhibiting in international shows, museums and galleries worldwide. She was born in Detroit Michigan and has always had an affinity for all forms of art, studying ballet, and piano. She received her Master of Arts from Michigan State University and post graduate work at the Center for Creative Studies. Courses included painting and graphic design. Painting became her main career 15 years ago and she is now a full-time professional artist.

Laura has had 7 solo exhibits and has won several notable awards. She won the top Abstract award in the international Bold Brush competition sponsored by Fine Art Studios Online, First Place in the Contemporary and Experimental category in the PSWC international show, First Place in PSNC’s statewide exhibit, and the top Abstract award at the LCPS’s international exhibit. She is a Signature member of PSA and a Master Circle artist with IAPS. Laura’s work has been published in Strokes of Genius-the Best of Drawing, Pastel Journal magazine, and Pratique des Artes in France. Laura has been featured on Art School Live, as part of the faculty of IAPS, Pastel Live, and PACE.

Eligibility

  • Open to all GLPS member artists who have paid their dues by March 31, 2026. No exceptions.
  • Work done under supervision in a class or workshop is not eligible.
  • Painting must be at least 80% soft pastels only.
  • Painting must be identical to the accepted image.
  • No copies from other artists or based on published images by other artists or photographers.
  • Work may not be created on top of a photographic image.
  • No portion of artwork or source material may be created or referenced using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • There are no size restrictions on actual artwork.
  • Work must have been completed in the last three years and not have been shown in any previous GLPS exhibit.

    Check your Entry History on ShowSubmit before entering.
  • Tasteful nude artwork may be accepted, but the GLPS reserves the right to exclude any artwork they deem unsuitable or against US laws.

Entry Fee

  • GLPS Members only: $40 for the first work. $5 each additional work.
  • Up to 5 image entries per artist.
Entry fee is nonrefundable and must be paid online by entry deadline, Monday, June 8, 2026.

Online Entry

  • When entering online with ShowSubmit for the first time, you will need to create an account. Record your password because you will reuse it for all future shows handled by ShowSubmit. A step-by-step guide for entry can be found here, Entry Guide
  • Visit the GLPS 2026 Online Members Exhibition show page and follow the directions for entry. When filling out your artwork information for this show, please be sure all information is correct – spelling, title, pricing of artwork. All information is input by the artist and is used AS IS by GLPS for reference, printed material, and online postings.
  • Changes and additions can be made until the entry deadline, Monday, June 8, 2026.
  • At the end of your entry process, payment can be made using a valid credit card. All entries must be paid for by the entry deadline or your entry process is not complete. Once the deadline passes, you cannot make any further changes to your entries.

Notification

All artists will receive notification by Friday, June 26, 2026 via email after jurying is complete. Please add [email protected] to your safe senders list to ensure notifications are received.

Sales

No commission will be taken if work is sold during the exhibit. Potential buyers will be instructed to contact the artist directly concerning sales. Artwork can be NFS (not for sale).

Special Rule

If an accepted artist breaks the exhibit rules stated in this prospectus in any way, they will be banned from participating in future GLPS exhibits for 5 years.

This is Not a Brick and Mortar Show, Online Only.

No shipping, no carpooling of artwork, no commission. So please consider entering. If you are accepted you just might win an award besides.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on June 26, 2026.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (June 8, 2026.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
