About the Exhibition

Here is an opportunity to give back!

The Fine Arts League of Cary (FALC) has a wonderful new opportunity to participate in The Green Chair Project, a long-standing local non-profit that provides essential resources to families in need in our community. Specifically, FALC has been invited by Southern Studios in Cary to partner in the creation of a submission for auction at the Green Chair Project fundraising event later this spring. Selected artwork from our FALC artists will be donated as part of the Southern Studios submission. Further details about the call for art are provided below.

The Green Chair project serves individuals and families overcoming crisis, including homelessness, and/or whose fresh start in stable housing is stalled by a lack of resources to make their house a home. The Green Chair’s mission helps families in Wake County where 1 in 30 students has no bed at home.

The Green Chair resources are raised through a very well-attended fundraising event where home designers and decorators create projects that are on display at the event and whose contents are available for sale to benefit The Green Chair. Southern Studios has been invited to be one of the participating design firms and has asked FALC to provide artwork for their submission.

Specifics regarding the Call for Art:
  1. The theme for the Southern Studios submission is “Art and Cocktails.” The cover art for this Call for Art includes examples of the mood and feeling of the theme.
  2. From the submitted works, Southern Studios will select four to six works to be incorporated into their Green Chair Project design submission. Southern Studios is looking primarily for landscapes and still lifes that fit into their theme and vision of a serene, pleasant and sophisticated space. However, if you have other works that you feel would fit the proposed theme, Southern Studios will consider them.
  3. All art selected to be included in the submission will be a donation to The Green Chair Project by the artist. Artists will not receive any proceeds from the sale of their art at the fundraising event.
  4. If selected, your art will be on display at a prestigious event attended by a dynamic art-buying community.
  5. Submitted art may be existing art you already have or something you create for the theme.
  6. At the fundraising event, the 2026 FALC Artist Catalog will be put into the swag bags provided by Southern Studio to be given to the attendees. A limited number of the catalogues will be for sale at the event. FALC will be listed as a sponsor of the event.
  7. You may submit up to three pieces. Submissions will be made on ShowSubmit. There is no entry fee.
