Theme and Eligibility
This is an open call opportunity for any artist working in soft pastel.
Work must be ready to hang, work not ready to hang may not be included in show.
Artists are encouraged to attend the reception.
Original pastel artwork only.
All submissions must be for sale.
Due to space restrictions all pieces must be under 34” wide outside frame dimension.
Awards
Best of Show: $650 Second: $350 Third: $200 Additional cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded.
Nonrefundable Jurying Fee
$35 for two images
$45 for three images
A maximum of 3 pieces may be submitted for jurying.

Notification
Artists will be notified of jury results by email during the week of May 27, 2024. Prizewinners will be announced at the reception on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Note: If an accepted painting is not delivered by the required date of the show there will be a 1 year ban imposed from entering any additional APS Exhibition.
Publicity
The Adirondack Pastel Society and Tom Myott Gallery will publicize the show and reception regionally via email marketing, paid print advertising, press releases, website and social media promotion.
Commission
The Tom Myott Gallery will collect a 10% commission and The Adirondack Pastel Society will collect a 10% commission (for a total of 20%) for artwork sales. Artists will receive 80% of the sell price. Artists' checks will be mailed in August.
All work must be for sale.
Liability
Each work is insured to a reasonable amount while turned over to the care of the Tom Myott Gallery. Items will be handled with the utmost care. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the Gallery and for insuring work while in transit. Artists are also responsible for providing work that is sturdy and durable for necessary hanging purposes.
Photography
The artist agrees to allow Tom Myott Gallery to photograph works for promotional purposes.
Drop-off and Pick-up
Accepted work can be hand delivered to the Tom Myott Gallery, Saturday, July 6 thru Sunday, July 7 between 10am and 3pm.
Shipped Works
Shipped works are due July 10, 2024 or sooner. There is a $20.00 handling fee per artist for all shipped work. Shipping instructions will be sent with the acceptance letter.

Pickup
Unsold hand delivered artwork must be picked up Sunday, August 11, between 11am and 4pm.
All unsold shipped work will be returned after August 12, 2024.
Shipped entries must include return shipping paid for by the artist. All shipping is the responsibility of the artist.
About the Exhibition
Adirondack National Pastel Exhibition 2024 is the tenth annual pastel show and will be held at The Tom Myott Gallery, located in the Shirt Factory Arts District of Glens Falls, NY.
Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on May 31, 2024.
You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and clickingtapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History (Accepted works will be notated by a green check.)
If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Image and Filename Specifications
Submit your original JPEG image files.
Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.

JPEG image files should use the sRGB color profile for best results.

Images should be at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge and no larger than 30mb.
The maximum upload file size limit is 30mb. Large image files may take longer to process and upload.
Images that are smaller than 1500 pixels on the longest edge cannot be made larger to meet the requirements. ShowSubmit cannot 'upsize' your images. They will be saved as is.
Image files are automatically resized to 300 dpi and 1500 pixels on the longest edge.
You do not need to resize your image files if they meet the above specifications.
If you have already resized your images, or if you prefer to resize your images yourself, ShowSubmit will not resize the image if it meets the exact show specifications.
You do not need to rename your image files.
Image files are automatically renamed using your last name, first initial and the title of the work. e.g. Hamby_D_BeautifulDay.jpg
All images must be high quality jpeg (jpg) image files. Set your camera to the highest possible quality image, use good lighting on your painting without any glass in front of it, and use a tripod for your camera. Once the photo is taken, you must crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual painting; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the painting itself.
Additional Entry Information
You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (May 20, 2024.)
Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
