Juror of Selection and Judge of Awards

Lyn Asselta has found inspiration in landscapes since childhood. Growing up on the coast of Maine, she was captivated by the changing weather and its effects on land and water. This fascination continued during her years along the Atlantic Ocean in Florida and the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. Since 2019, she has returned to her beloved Maine. Lyn's deep connection with nature fuels her artistry, and pastels allow her to communicate her love for the natural world. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally across the United States and in France and China.

As an instructor, she has taught workshops in Canada, Curaçao, and extensively in the USA. Lyn is an IAPS Eminent Pastelist, a Pastel Society of America Master Pastelist, a member of the Salmagundi Club of NYC, and the founder and past president of the First Coast Pastel Society in Florida. Her work has been featured in art publications like Pastel Journal and Plein Air Magazine.

A virtual/zoom 2-day workshop will be held on September 18 and 19, 2025. More about this workshop can be found on appalachianpastelsociety.org
