As we enter the Winter Season and the darkest months ahead, we invite artists to interpret the theme of Light: How it transforms space, reveals forms from darkness, and inspires hope. We welcome medium that explore light in both literal and abstract ways, including painting, photography, digital art, sculpture and mixed media. Whether your work captures radiant illumination or metaphorically expresses the concept, let your art guide us forward. Share your vision and illuminate our winter exhibition with your unique interpretation of light.
Juror
The exhibition will be juried by Broad & Belvidere Contemporary Art’s curatorial team.
Eligibility
Open to artists 18+ living within an 80-mile radius of Nazareth, PA. All media welcome.
Awards
1st Place – $300
2nd Place – $200
Honorable Mention – $100
Entry Fee
$30 for up to 3 images
Accepted Media & Presentation Requirements
All media are welcome, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and digital art created by the artist.
AI-generated art will not be accepted.
Works must not exceed 48 wide by 60 inches.
All 2D work must be ready to hang with wire or D-rings; sawtooth hangers will not be accepted.
Sales & Commission
All work must be for sale. Artists receive 60% of the sale price; Broad & Belvidere Contemporary Art retains a 40% commission.
Shipping & Insurance
Artists are responsible for delivery and pick-up of artwork. Broad & Belvidere Contemporary Art does not handle shipping to or from the gallery. Shipped works must include a prepaid return shipping label. The gallery will take the utmost care in handling artwork but is not responsible for loss or damage. Artists are encouraged to carry their own insurance if desired.
Notifications & Return of Work
Artists will be notified of acceptance via email by Monday, October 27, 2025. Artwork Delivery: November 8–9, 2025 Accepted artwork must be picked up at the gallery December 15–16, 2025.
Publicity
By entering, artists grant permission for Broad & Belvidere Contemporary Art to use submitted images for promotional purposes, including social media, website, and press releases.
Agreement
Submission of work constitutes agreement to all terms outlined in this call.

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on October 27, 2025.
You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and clickingtapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History.

Image and Filename Specifications
File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.
Image and Filename Specifications
For those curious, or in need of more detailed information regarding our image and file specifications, please see the following:
File Format: Submit original JPEG (JPG) image files. For the best results, ensure your files use the sRGB color profile.
Cropping: Crop your image to include only the artwork itself. Do not include the mat, frame, or any background.
Image Dimensions:
Images should be at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge.
The file size must be no larger than 30 MB. Large files may take longer to upload and process.
Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements. Small images will be saved as is and may not display well in the jury panel, which could affect their review or lead to disqualification.
Ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
Automatic Resizing:
ShowSubmit automatically resizes images to 300 DPI and 1500 pixels on the longest edge if they exceed the specifications.
If your images already meet the exact show specifications, they will not be resized.
File Naming:
You do not need to rename your image files.
Files are automatically renamed using your last name, first initial and the title of the work. e.g. Hamby_D_BeautifulDay.jpg
Quality Tips:
Use your camera’s highest quality setting to capture the image.
Ensure the artwork is well-lit and avoid glare from glass.
Use a tripod for stability and crop out any parts of the photo that are not the artwork.
Additional Entry Information
You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (October 20, 2025.)
Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
