Description

The Eden Compton Gallery is pleased to announce an open call for “Saratoga: Town & Country”, a Regional Fine Art Juried Exhibition celebrating the distinctive character of Saratoga Springs, NY and its environs. This exhibition invites artists to explore the rich
dialogue between the elegance and unique history of the city and the beauty of the surrounding countryside: historic streets and storefronts, parks and porches, racetrack, rural farms, open fields, wooded trails, and the seasonal rhythms that define life in and around Saratoga.

Awards

There will be cash and merchandise prizes awarded at the reception. List of awards will be posted shortly.

Awards will be presented at the Opening Reception on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Eden Compton Gallery, 79 Beekman Street, located in the vibrant arts district of Saratoga Springs.

Juror of Selection and Awards

We are honored to welcome Ann Larsen, Master Artist with the American Impressionist Society, as Juror of Selection and Awards. Ms. Larsen brings a distinguished national reputation and a discerning eye for excellence in craftsmanship, composition, and expressive interpretation.

Artist Eligibility

This is an open call opportunity for any artist residing within 100 miles of Saratoga Springs, NY

Artwork Requirements

  • Oil, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, pastel, photography, and printmaking.
  • Work may be representational or interpretive but should reflect the spirit, landscape, architecture, or cultural life of the region.
  • Maximum size is 16 x 20 (or 320 sq inches not including frame)
  • All work must be original and completed within the past three years.
  • No reproductions or digitally produced artwork.
  • No work created from copyrighted photography or photos that the artist does not have permission to use.
  • Work must be ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers. Work not ready to hang may not be included in show.
  • All work must be for sale.

Entry Fee

  • $35 for 2 works.
  • Up to 2 works.
Entry fees are nonrefundable.

Shipping & Delivery

Artists are responsible for delivering artwork or arranging to have artwork delivered to the gallery at 79 Beekman Street, Saratoga Springs, NY. Drop-off dates are Friday, May 29 – Sunday, May 31, 2026, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Shipped work must arrive at gallery by Friday, May 29th. Shipped work must include prepaid return shipping label. Work will be returned the week after closing date of show.

Accepted artists can contact the gallery to work out alternative delivery arrangements if necessary.

Artwork Pickup

Saturday, July 18 – Sunday, July 19, 2026, 11am–4pm

Sales / Commission

Eden Compton Gallery will collect a 35% commission for artwork sales. Artists will receive 65% of the sell price. Artists' checks will be mailed within two weeks of show closing date.

Photography

The artist agrees to allow Eden Compton Gallery to photograph works for promotional purposes.

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on April 21, 2026.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (April 10, 2026.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
