The Fine Arts League of Cary is delighted that the first exhibition at our new gallery will be to celebrate Art Swarm!

As a FALC Swarm volunteer and/or participating artist who contributed so much to making the inaugural Art Swarm an amazing event, we invite you to be the first to exhibit at the Fine Arts League of Cary Gallery!

This is an invitation only non-juried exhibition. However, due to the potential for space limitations at the gallery, the Exhibition Committee reserves the right to select which piece or pieces from each artist will be displayed. Each artist is guaranteed that at least one work submitted by that artist will be included in the exhibition.

For the participating artists in Art Swarm (plein aire and studio artists), please submit the art you created during Swarm, up to five pieces, no larger than 24 inches on its longest side. Only art created during Swarm should be submitted.

For the Art Swarm volunteers, please submit up to five pieces of two-dimensional original art no larger than 24 inches on its longest side that you have created in the past three years, and especially any art that features Cary!

Because this is a thank-you celebration and exhibition, there is no entry fee! The exhibition will include an online exhibition through the ShowSubmit platform!

Eligibility Requirements

  • For the participating artists in Art Swarm (plein aire and studio artists), please submit the art you created during Swarm, up to five pieces, no larger than 24 inches on its longest side. Only art created during Swarm should be submitted.
  • For the Art Swarm volunteers, please submit up to five pieces of two-dimensional original art no larger than 24 inches on its longest side that you have created in the past three years, and especially any art that features Cary!
Original work shall comply with the following criteria:
  1. The work is the artist’s original creation and is not, in whole or in part, a copy of any other person’s work or photograph. The exception, for this event only, is work created during Swarm Workshops that were from the instructor’s photograph.
  2. The work is not a photographic computer generated or other form of electronically generated work.
  3. Artificial Intelligence, “AI” enhanced or created art and photography is prohibited from entry into the Exhibition.
  4. Photographs must be original work, printed in either a darkroom or from a computer on photographic paper. Photographs on canvas are acceptable. Digitally manipulated images are not accepted unless all components of the digital image are the creation of the artist. Minor revisions such as burning, dodging, contrast adjustment are allowed. No collages will be accepted.
  5. Art reproductions including giclee, art prints, etc., are not eligible. No copies, mechanical reproductions, molds or kit work will be accepted.

Rules for Entry

Each entry of the proposed artwork is to be:
  1. Uploaded using the ShowSubmit portal.
  2. Shown without frame, mat, glass, or background visible.
  3. Presented with the image right-side up and not blurry.
  4. Size limitation is 24 inches on the longest side, not including framing.
  5. Work on unframed gallery-wrapped canvas is acceptable. Gallery-wrapped frames MUST be painted on all sides.
  6. Accepted works must be available for the duration of the Exhibition.
  7. All works must be wired to gallery standards.
    1. No coated wire
    2. D-ring hooks only. No sawtooth hangers.
    3. Wire must be pulled taut with no sag.
    4. Ends of wire should be wrapped with tape to protect installers.
  8. Artwork must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, phone number and email
  9. Artwork must be for sale.
  10. Entries must be family appropriate. FALC has the right to refuse work deemed inappropriate.

Sales

Work must be for sale; NFS is not allowed.

Artwork must be for sale. The Fine Arts League of Cary will receive a commission of 25% of the sale. If the patron discovered the art piece during the exhibition and it is sold up to 90 days past the exhibition end date, this rule applies. The artist must notify the Exhibition Chair of the sale. The Exhibition Chair will notify the Exhibition Chair of the sold work and the price for which it sold in order to generate an invoice. Failure to report a sale to FALC will result in the artist being ineligible to submit artwork to FALC exhibitions/exhibitions for a period of 6 months.

Liability

All entries will be handled with the best care possible. However, FALC, its members and the hosting facility shall not be responsible for loss or damage from any cause. By entering any FALC exhibition or venue, the entering member agrees to abide by these rules.
The artist retains copyright to their image. However, by submitting to this exhibition, artist agrees to FALC's use of the images for publicity (including future FALC event promotion) and archival purposes. Submission of entries constitutes agreement with all conditions set forth in this prospectus.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on November 14, 2025.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • After your entry is submitted, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (November 10, 2025.)
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
