Terri Ford discovered pastels in 1987 after attending the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. She worked with them off and on until 2000 when she decided to devote full time to pastels. Terri continued to hone her style and technique while entering shows and receiving a plethora of awards in numerous exhibits as well as recognition in worldwide publications. Terri is an Eminent Pastelist with the International Association of Pastel Societies, a PSA Master, PSWC, American Impressionist Society Signature and AWA Signature Artist. In 2017 Terri was the Invitee d’Honneur of the Art du Pastel en France, at their annual exhibit in Giverny. She has also been published in several issues of Pratique Des Arts and is highly honored to be included in the book, 40 Maitres du Pastel.

Judith Leeds is an internationally recognized award-winning artistwho paints portraits, still lifes, and landscapes in both pastel and oil. She has received awards from the Portrait Society of America, Pastel Journal’s annual Pastel 100, and numerous other awards and medals including recognitions from international magazines. Judith conducts demonstrations and workshops throughout the US. Her work has appeared in special exhibits in the Hilbert Museum, CA, Montclair Museum of Art, NJ, Slater Memorial Museum, CT, and is in the permanent collection of Mayo Performing Arts Center, NJ. She is an elected member of the Salmagundi Club, NYC.

Judith was formerly an internationally known award-winning graphic artist who created over 3,000 book covers including The Color Purple, chosen by Literary Hub as one of the ”25 most iconic book covers in history”. Print Magazine included her work in their retrospective, Forty Years of Typography in America.

Eligibility

  • Open to any North American pastel artist 18 years and older.
  • Work done under supervision in a class or workshop is NOT ELIGIBLE.
  • Painting must be at least 80% soft pastels only.
  • Painting must be identical to the accepted image.
  • No copies from other artists or based on published images by other artists or photographers.
  • Work may not be created on top of a photographic image.
  • There are no size restrictions on actual artwork.
  • Work must have been completed in the last three years and not have been shown in any previous GLPS exhibit.
  • Tasteful nude artwork may be accepted, but the GLPS reserves the right to exclude any artwork they deem unsuitable or against US laws.

Entry fee

  • Up to 5 image entries per artist.
  • Entry fee for 1st image is $35 for GLPS members, $45 non-members.
  • For images #2-5: $5 each (members and non-members).
Entry fee is nonrefundable and must be paid online by entry deadline.

GLPS 2024 member dues must have been paid BY Mar. 31, 2024 to enter this show as a member. No exceptions.

Online Entry

  • When entering online with ShowSubmit for the first time, you will need to create an account. Record your password because you will reuse it for all future shows handled by ShowSubmit. A step-by-step guide for entry can be found at showsubmit.com/entry-guide.
  • When filling out your artwork information for this show, please be sure all information is correct – spelling, title, pricing of artwork. All information is input by the artist and is used AS IS by GLPS for reference, printed material, and online postings.
  • Changes and additions can be made until the entry deadline, July 1.
  • At the end of your entry process, payment can be made using a valid credit card. All entries must be paid for by the entry deadline or your entry process is not complete. Once the deadline passes, you cannot make any further changes to your entries.

Sales

Work may be for sale; NFS is allowed.

No commission will be taken if work is sold during the exhibit. Potential buyers will be instructed to contact the artist directly concerning sales.
Special Rule
If an accepted artist breaks the exhibit rules stated in this prospectus in any way, they will be banned from participating in future GLPS exhibits for 5 years.
THIS IS NOT A BRICK AND MORTAR SHOW, ONLINE ONLY. No shipping, no carpooling of artwork, no commission. So please consider entering. If you are accepted you just might win an award besides.

Notifications will be emailed by the end of the day on August 7, 2024. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications before that time.

After notifications are sent, you may view the status of your entry in your ShowSubmit artist account’s Entry History. Accepted works will be notated by a green check.

If you do not receive your email, you may also view your notification letter using the View Notification link in your Entry History.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • Submit your original JPEG image files.
  • Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
  • Image must be displayed right side up.
  • You do not need to resize your image files.
  • You do not need to rename your image files.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (July 1, 2024.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
