Exhibition Overview

The Monument Arts and Cultural Center, in association with the Society of Animal Artists, is pleased to announce Wildlife in Art, a juried exhibition celebrating wildlife art in all its forms. This exhibition honors artists whose work is shaped by close observation and meaningful engagement with wild animals—whether through time spent in remote natural environments, field study, or sustained encounters in wildlife sanctuaries, rescue centers, and zoos. Wildlife in Art seeks to showcase artistic interpretations of wild animals and their habitats that arise from firsthand experience and thoughtful study. Works may reflect moments of quiet presence in the field, the complexity of animal behavior, or the intimate knowledge gained through repeated observation. Together, the exhibition highlights biodiversity, conservation, and the enduring relationship between humans and the natural world.

Artists are invited to submit original works in which wildlife is the primary subject, interpreted through realistic, expressive, or abstract approaches. All media are welcome unless otherwise noted below.

Theme

Wildlife must be the primary subject matter. This includes wild mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, marine life, and their natural environments. Domestic animals and pets are not eligible.

Interpretations may range from traditional realism to experimental and contemporary approaches.
