This exhibit is open to all artists 18 and over.

Awards

$4,000 in Cash Awards

Entry Fee

  • MAS Members: $20 for one entry, $10 for a second entry
  • Non-Members: $40 for one entry, $10 for a second entry
  • Up to two pieces of art may be submitted, but only one may be accepted.
  • All online entries must now be submitted through ShowSubmit.

Entry Requirements

  • Decisions by the juror are final.
  • Original works in all media except photography or computer generated art will be accepted.
  • Work that has been shown in previous MAS Exhibits or done under tutelage may not be submitted.
  • Work must be signed, framed and wired taut for hanging. The hanging system works best when the wire is attached 1/4 down on the frame. No sawtooth hangers.
  • Gallery wrapped canvas edges must be painted.
  • Framed art may not exceed 38” on the longest side.
  • “Not For Sale” works will be accepted.
  • Work must be deemed appropriate for all age viewers.
  • Sculpture up to 40 lbs is accepted but the artist must supply a pedestal.
  • Mixed media are accepted.
  • Inventory tags will be created by MAS and will be placed on the paintings at receiving.

Sales of Artwork

Artists will be paid directly the full sales amount. (A contribution of 20% of sales will be made to MAS, of which half will be donated to the Scranton Memorial Library.)
Madison Art Society assumes no liability for damage, loss, or theft of submitted work. All artists are responsible for insuring their own work and hereby waive and release MAS, its volunteers and Board Members from any and all liability.

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on July 28, 2026.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (July 24, 2026.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
