Juror

Erika Kvam

A West Lafayette native, Erika Kvam grew up adjacent to Purdue University’s campus but opted to pursue her undergraduate studies in History and Classical Studies at Indiana University before continuing her education overseas. In 2010, Kvam earned her master’s degree in Art Gallery & Museum Studies at the University of Manchester in England. After working with the Manchester Museum and the John Rylands Special Collections Library, Kvam moved back to the United States and started work with Purdue Galleries in September 2015. She was appointed Interim Director & Head Curator in 2019, then dropped the Interim in May 2022.

Awards & Reception

Approximately $2,500 in prizes will be awarded.

All accepted artists and a guest will be invited to attend the exhibition opening reception and awards ceremony on Friday, February 27. The exhibition will be open to the public Saturday, February 28 through Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Entry Fees

  • A non-refundable $25 entry fee is due for the submission of a single work of art, $35 is due for the submission of two works of art.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable.
Please note that all fees must be paid at the time of submission to complete your entry. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners, JBC, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link are all accepted.

Entry Instructions

All artworks for jurying are to be submitted online at ShowSubmit.com no later than Monday, February 2, 2026. No art will be accepted in person. Please do not mail CDs or USBs.

Artists may submit up to two works of art

Selected art is due at Minnetrista by Saturday, February 14, 2025 by 4 p.m.

Eligibility

Any artist 18 years of age or older who is a present or former resident of Indiana.

Professional Division:
Anyone who earns $4,000 or more per year in art sales, commissions, or prize
money, or who teaches art.

Avocational Division:
Anyone who earns less than $4,000 per year in art sales, commissions, or prize
money, or who does not teach art.

Eligible Work includes:
Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawings, Fiber, Mixed Media, Paintings, Prints, Sculptures, Metalwork, and Photography. Digitally created art is accepted. Video and projected art is not eligible.

Submission Guidelines

  • The work must have been completed in the past two years and not accepted previously for any juried exhibition at Minnetrista.
  • No entry may exceed 60 inches in any direction and 100 pounds in weight.
  • All two dimensional entries must be properly framed and ready to hang; no saw tooth hangers or clips will be accepted.
  • Paint must be dry.
  • A single entry may contain no more than four component parts.
  • All works of art must be original.
  • Art created as part of a class or copied from another artist's work will not be accepted.

Sales

Work may be for sale; NFS is allowed.

All artists are encouraged to offer their artwork for sale. Minnetrista is solely responsible for all sales and will retain 30% of the selling price of each work sold. Artwork sold may not be removed until after the exhibition closes Sunday, May 3, 2025. Pickups may begin on Monday, May 4, 2025.

Agreement

Submission of artwork shall be understood to indicate agreement to abide by the rules and the decision of the juror. Minnetrista may photograph the artwork and use the images in publications, advertisements, or promotional materials. Artwork may not be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition.

Insurance

All accepted works will be insured while at Minnetrista at a value agreeable to the artist and to Minnetrista. Minnetrista will not be responsible for insuring unclaimed artwork after Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Return of Artwork

Artwork is to be picked up between Monday, May 4 and Saturday, May 9, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Artwork not picked up by Saturday, August 29, 2026, becomes Minnetrista’s property unless prior arrangements have been made.

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on February 6, 2026.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (February 2, 2026.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
