Additionally, Susan expanded her skillset by studying with the late Richard Schmid, further enhancing her artistic abilities and perspective.
Susan Kuznitsky is dedicated to sharing her expertise with others. She teaches classes both locally and online, as well as internationally, making her knowledge accessible to a wide audience. Eligibility
- Open to all soft pastel artists 18 years of age or older.
- Works must be in soft pastel—no oil pastels. Mixed media must be predominantly soft pastel. The artwork’s final surface must be 80% traditional soft pastel.
- Work must be original and from your reference, not copied from other artists or published materials.
- Any reference an instructor provides is not eligible, including an instructor-provided photo, still-life setup, or model setup.
- Work done in a classroom, workshop, or online group scenario is not eligible.
- All artwork must be initially drawn and not created on top of any photographic image. If used in your paintings, collage materials must be created by the artist.
- Artwork sent to the show must be the same piece as the photo submitted.
- Artwork must have been created in the past 2 years and not previously shown in any Pastel Society of Colorado exhibitions. Any painting identified as shown previously in a PSC exhibition will be rejected OR, if discovered after jurying, will remain in the exhibition and the artist will be prohibited from entering future PSC sponsored shows for one year from date of exhibit opening. The painting will also not be eligible for any awards.
- Artwork must be for sale, no NFS.
- When you enter a painting, from that point forward, it is not available for you to enter in other shows, nor available for you to sell unless, of course, it is not accepted.
- Failure to ship the artwork submitted and accepted into this show will result in the artist receiving a one-year ban on entering future PSC exhibitions.
International Entries
- Cash awards are made only via PayPal. All payments will be made directly to the artist through their individual PayPal account; no awards will be made to second-party accounts.
- Material awards cannot be shipped to international addresses.
- If you cannot afford to ship a painting in both directions, then DO NOT ENTER the show. When accepted paintings are not delivered, that creates havoc for a show, for example, another artist did not get accepted, the catalog might have already been printed, the show curator might have already designed the show, etc.
PLEASE: Carefully read and understand the above rules!
