Background

The SAA’s founder, Patt Bott, called Anna Hyatt Huntington our “3rd member” after herself and fellow founder Guido Borghi. Anna served as the Society’s first vice-president in 1960. At the time, Anna was a world-renowned sculptor and had previously opened Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina. Brookgreen, an enchanting botanical garden, is the nation’s premier sculpture museum. 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of Anna’s birth!

Entry Fees

SAA Members Only: $35 for the first entry and $10 for an optional second and third entry.

Exhibition Requirements

  • Open to all SAA members whose dues are current as of 2025.

    If in doubt, confirm with the office, [email protected], that you are in good standing with your dues before submitting. After the deadline, it is too late to pay dues to stay eligible for the show.
  • Artists may submit up to three entries.
  • There are no limitations for the age of a work and work previously exhibited with the SAA is OK to submit.

Artwork Requirements

  • All work must be original.
  • All 2D work must be properly mounted and framed with wire, ready for hanging.
  • 2D size limit, including the outside frame dimension, is 48 inches;
  • 3D weight limit is 150 pounds.
The Society reserves the right not to display work that does not match the quality of the digital images entered.

Please Note

  1. The jury will be accepting @40 - 2D, and 20 - 3D pieces for the exhibition.
  2. Each participating artist is Required to enclose a direct-billed return label Inside their crate, where it can be easily found. Artists should email a copy of the inbound and return paperwork to the SAA office.
  3. Associates juried into the show will receive a ½ point, which will count towards their Signature promotion.
  4. Submission to any SAA show is a commitment to participate. Artists withdrawing their work will be subject to a 2-year penalty, during which they will be unable to enter any SAA exhibitions.

Insurance

Artwork is insured while on Brookgreen’s property; insurance during transit is the artist’s responsibility.

Sales

There will be a 30% commission on sales. A commission is due for any sale occurring AFTER the SAA emailed the artists' acceptance notifications. This is because the venue has the first right of sale to all works included in the exhibition that are submitted for sale. Work is expected to be for sale.

Submission

The entry form is online and accessible via www.showsubmit.com. The jury fee payment is now part of the application process. By submitting, you agree to all conditions specified in this prospectus and in the entry information and to loan the accepted artwork to the exhibition.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on March 9, 2026.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (March 2, 2026.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
