Lazy Days of Summer – Wanted: Artwork that embraces summer in Arizona! It is the heat, the Monsoons, swimming pools, or summer activities. It may be travel, the desert sunshine, sunsets, Southwest colors, etc. Share your work showcasing summer and its Lazy Days in all the different ways to be lazy. This gallery show is open to Sonoran Arts League members working in all mediums, both two dimensional and three dimensional.

All submissions are processed online, please ensure your photos accurately represent your work without frames. Your 2D and 3D submissions, up to three will be reviewed and juried for inclusion in the show. Jewelers may submit 10 pieces. The Juror(s) will select (jury) all work and make the determination as to which works will be included in the exhibit. If necessary 3-D artists may submit up to two photos of their work for the jury process.

If you need assistance submitting your artwork to be juried, please refer to the Resource tab on the League’s website. Please be respectful of the office staff and only call for assistance during the June 13 assistance hours when Gallery volunteers are on hand.

Entry Fees

  • Sonoran Arts League Members: $40 for up to 3 submissions.
  • Jewelers may submit up to 10 pieces (sets are considered one piece).

Artwork Requirements

  • Must be the artist’s original work.
  • No copy giclee prints allowed (photography & digitally produced prints are allowed as originals).
  • Must be for sale (No NFS)
  • Clearly labeled with the artist’s name, title of work & medium and price upon delivery

Display Requirements

Art must be in gallery ready condition and each piece must have a gallery title card on the back. This listing is not all inclusive. For a detailed listing of Exhibition Display and Take-In Requirements refer to the Resource page on the League’s website.
  • Gallery Ready works include D-rings or screw eyes and wire for paintings.
  • Pieces with saw-tooth hangers will not be accepted.
  • No filament fishing line is acceptable, all mounting systems must be strong enough to support the weight of the artwork.
  • For 2D artwork on canvases, artwork on canvases or panels must be gallery wrapped or framed if less that 1 ½” in depth
  • Maximum weight is 35 pounds
  • For wall-mounted sculpture, if you require a system other than a standard picture hanger, the artist must provide the hanging system and must either mount the piece and/or supervise the hanging process.
  • 3-D work should fit on a pedestal of approximately 16” square.
The artist must own the sole copyright to art.

Once your artwork is accepted, there will be no substitutions and your work must remain in the Sonoran Arts League Gallery through the end of the show or until it sells.

Artwork Delivery

Please be sure that you can commit to the delivery and pickup dates or have someone who can act on behalf. Artwork that is dropped-off early or picked-up late will be assessed a handling fee of $20.

Commission

The Sonoran Arts League retains a 30% commission on all exhibition sales.

Sales

Work must be for sale; NFS is not allowed.

The Sonoran Arts League will make payment of the sale price less the commission (30%) of all sold artwork directly to the artist. Checks will be available 10 days following the close of the show. With the sale of work, the artist is encouraged to bring in new artwork as approved by the League office as replacement for the sold piece.

Artwork Loan Agreement

By registering for this event / Call to Art you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the Artwork Loan Agreement. CLICK HERE to download the Artwork Loan Agreement. Print this is out and bring it with you at drop-off.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed by the end of the day on June 28, 2024. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications before that time.

After notifications are sent, you may view the status of your entry in your ShowSubmit artist account’s Entry History. Accepted works will be notated by a green check.

If you do not receive your email, you may also view your notification letter using the View Notification link in your Entry History.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • Submit your original JPEG image files.
  • Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
  • Image must be displayed right side up.
  • You do not need to resize your image files.
  • You do not need to rename your image files.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (June 14, 2024.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
