- The competition is open to Salmagundi artist members in good standing, who may submit two (2) works, which must, in some degree, use or include this logo from the windows of the Library and the phrase “Ex Libris Salmagundi Club New York”. The winning design will be chosen blind by an appointed committee.
- Submissions may be made in any size with a 2:3 ratio, but bear in mind the that final size, a VERTICAL design of 3” deep and 2” wide, will need to hold its detail.
- Artists must not sign their work, but after the winning announcement is made, signing may take place before the bookplate’s production.
- The award will consist of $500, a congratulatory announcement, with the winning plate framed and entered in the collection of the Library.
- This competition will only accept electronic submissions.
- Open to Salmagundi artist members only.
- Artists may submit 2 works.
- Accepted work will remain in place during the exhibition and cannot be removed until it ends.
Submissions
- Artists are able to edit their own entries during the entirety of the submission period through ShowSubmit. After the submission deadline, changes to your submission entry will not be accepted.
- Submissions not adhering to the Exhibition Requirements will be omitted. The decision of the Art Committee as to placement and installation is final.
- Acceptance / Rejection emails will be coming from ShowSubmit. If you do not receive yours by the acceptance notification date, please login and check your ShowSubmit account notifications.
Shipping & Delivery
- If accepted, the artist has the option of delivering the work in-person at the Club during our receiving days.
- If shipping the work to our location, to accommodate the possibility of shipping delays, the artist should ship with an expected arrival date of 1 week before the exhibition opens.
- The artist must include a prepaid return shipping label from a shipping provider (USPS, UPS, Fedex, etc.) when shipping their work to the club. This is required to ship the artwork back to the artist after the exhibition ends.
