An exhibition featuring our members’ contributions in publishing, advertising, and beyond, creating a visual element to the written word.

Exhibition Requirements

  • Artwork in all mediums created to accompany a written story or narrative. Original artwork preferred, but printed published examples are acceptable.
  • Artists may submit two works for consideration.
  • Works must be framed with wire for hanging.
  • Outside dimensions of frame may not exceed 40 inches.
  • Only work not previously shown at Salmagundi may be submitted.
  • If work is not for sale, please write “NFS” on the hangtag that will be included in your acceptance email.
  • Works not received by the stated dates will not be hung.
  • Acceptance/Rejection emails will arrive via ShowSubmit.
  • Artists can edit their own entries during the entirety of the submission period through ShowSubmit. After the submission deadline, changes to submission entry will not be accepted.
  • Submissions not adhering to the Exhibition Requirements will be omitted. The decision of the Art Committee is Final.
  • Acceptance / Rejection emails will be coming from ShowSubmit. If you do not receive yours by the acceptance notification date, please login and check your ShowSubmit account.
  • If accepted, the artist has the option of delivering the work in-person at the Club during our receiving days. If shipping the work to our location, to accommodate the possibility of shipping delays, the artist should ship with an expected arrival date of 1 week before the exhibition opens.
  • The artist must include a return shipping label when delivering their work, if it’s to be shipped back to the artist after the exhibition ends.
  • If the work is not for sale, please write “NFS” on the hangtag that will be included in your acceptance email. It must be filled out legibly and attached to your artwork as instructed before delivery.
  • Works not received by the receiving dates will not be hung.
  • Works must be removed immediately after the exhibition. If artists do not provide a return shipping label, they will have a week after the exhibition’s end to pick up their work from the Club. After 30 days, the artist will incur a $50 monthly fee while the work stays at the Club. After 180 days, the work will be considered abandoned property.
  • After acceptance, works being shipped must be sent in reusable shipping boxes for art, with the name of the exhibition on the outside of the package. Salmagundi members receive 10% off Air Float boxes. Contact [email protected] for the member’s discount code.

Sales

Work may be for sale; NFS is allowed.

The club will receive a customary 30% of all sales. 70% to the artist.

Shipped Work

After acceptance, works being shipped must be sent in reusable shipping boxes for art, with the name of the exhibition on the outside of the package. Salmagundi members receive 10% off Air Float boxes. Contact [email protected] for the member’s discount code.

Artwork Removal

Works must be removed immediately after the exhibition. If artists do not provide a return shipping label, they will have a week after the exhibition’s end to pick up their work from the Club. After 30 days, the artist will incur a $50 fee while the work stays at the Club. After 180 days, the work will be considered abandoned property.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on November 25, 2024.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History (Accepted works will be notated by a green check.)

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • Submit your original JPEG image files.
  • Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
  • Image must be displayed right side up.
  • You do not need to resize your image files.
  • You do not need to rename your image files.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (November 11, 2024.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
