Theme

Arab artists are invited to participate in Roots of Radiance, an exhibition celebrating the richness of Arab culture and creativity during Arab Heritage Month. Submissions should reflect the joy, resilience, and beauty of Arab artistic expression through any medium. This is an opportunity to showcase works that inspire, uplift, and honor the strength of cultural identity and heritage. We encourage a wide range of styles and perspectives that highlight the diversity within the Arab community.

Eligibility

  • Open to Arab artists.

Entry Fee

  • $30 for up to 3 images
  • $5 for each additional image up to 6

Entry Guidelines

  • All entry forms must be fully completed.
  • Dimensions must be listed to the nearest inch unframed or the nearest inch framed.
  • Images must feature the artwork only—no matting or frames visible.
  • Ensure images are clear, well-lit, and right-side-up.
  • Files will be resized and renamed automatically by ShowSubmit; no manual resizing or renaming is required.
  • Images featuring frames, mats, or substandard quality (blurry/poor lighting) will be disqualified.
  • Content depicting graphic violence or lewd sexual imagery is prohibited; nudes are acceptable at the discretion of the curator.

General Rules & Specifications

  • All art media, including 2D and 3D are accepted.
  • There are no size limits.
  • All accepted pieces must be available for the full duration of the exhibition.
  • All works must be for sale, with no changes to title, price, or dimensions after submission.
  • Only original works are accepted; no reproductions or Giclée prints.
  • All 2-D wall-displayed art must be professionally wired and ready for hanging (no saw tooth hangers).
  • Artists are responsible for shipping costs. Shipped packages must have a pre-paid bar-coded return shipping label.
  • Plexiglass is required, except for pastel artwork, where glass is allowed.

Sales

  • The SPACE retains a 40% commission on all sales.
  • Artists receive 60% of sales revenue.
  • All sold works must remain on display for the full exhibition duration.

Promotion

Promotional efforts will be supported by The SPACE and farah.
  1. Artists must provide their social media handles and website links.
  2. Short Artist Bio (150-word limit):
    Share your background, journey, and key achievements.
  3. Artist Statement (150-word limit):
    Describe the inspiration and creative process behind the submitted artwork.

Entry Agreement

Submitting an application and payment indicates agreement to all terms outlined in this prospectus. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in disqualification.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on February 21, 2025.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History (Accepted works will be notated by a green check.)

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (February 17, 2025.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
