Show Submission DEMO Program

Welcome to the Entry Demo of the ShowSubmit Program

This page represents the starting page for an artist's entry into your show through the ShowSubmit program.

This page is basically a prospectus and could be placed anywhere on your website you wish,or it can be hosted on the ShowSubmit site. It is designed to be a page on which the artist finds information about the show rules and guidelines, including fees, image naming protocol, image preparation requirements, etc. At the bottom of all this material the user must click a checkbox acknowledging their willingness to comply with show regulations. This takes the place of requiring their signature on the paper entry form from the prospectus. (see below)

Once the box is checked, the button appears that enables them to proceed into the ShowSubmit screens located on this ShowSubmit site.

In this demo version, the organization hosting the "show" is SS, and the "show" is titled "ShowSubmit Demo Program." Your organization's name would appear on the pages instead, and each show title is specified by you. In addition, the colors, font and layout of the entire system may be modified by the adjustments of standard css stylesheets.

In the demo, you will proceed as if you were entering a show. In this sample case, only three mediums of artwork are applicable (e.g. oil, pastel, watercolor), but the system is designed to allow the organization to specifify what mediums are accepted, including limiting to one medium. The administrative "control panel" behind the scenes, which is available for login with password for the people in your organization responsible for running the system, allows control of this and many other features of the system.

For this sample show, up to three images per entrant are allowed. The system can be used for up to five images in its present form. Instructions are available on each screen. There is also context help at the small help image image for most fields. You will first enter your personal information, some of which is required; note that the program validates the entries to ensure that they contain appropriate text (e.g. the phone numbers are in phone number format, etc.). When you proceed, the system stores the artist information and then presents the image entry screen. The instructions there will provide guidance for how the system expects the entries to look; most aspects of this process are self-evident, or tips are given.

It is important to note that there is a place provided in the system for corrections, changes and deletions from your entry, just before "checkout." Attempting to go Back to a prior screen to change something may scramble the entry, although the system will not crash or disappear, and the entrant will have to start all over again. This being a web-based program, the system has no way of preventing the use of the Back button on the user's web browser. This is why so many warnings about this aspect appear.

At "Checkout" in the demo, you will find a block on the page which would ordinarily contain the entry fields for credit card information on our PayPal page. The demo is not set up to complete the process with a "Test" transaction, so you will not experience entering a credit card. However, click the "Submit Payment" button that is there and you will then see a sample of the message screen you would normally get following successful payment and completion of the entry.

If your test entry images are prepared, you are ready to go. The ShowSubmit system expects them to be prepared as high quality jpegs, 900 pixels on the long side of the image @ 300 dpi. For this demo, the filename protocol is:
e.g. Obama_B_The WhiteHouse.jpg
