Entry Fees

  • Juried Member
    $45 for first entry, $10 for second entry
  • Associate Member
    $50 for first entry, $10 for second entry
  • Non-Member
    $75 for first entry, $20 for second entry
This fee is payable with your credit card when you enter online. Maximum of two entries per artist. Only one may be accepted.

Entry fees are non-refundable.

Eligibility

  • Any woman artist may submit for jurying two original works, but only one work per artist will be accepted.
  • Work must have been created within the last 3 years.
  • Giclees, photography, computer generated images, crafts, work done under instruction, derived from published photographs or previously shown in a CLWAC Annual Open Juried Exhibition is NOT eligible.
  • Work by members shown in the Members’ Exhibition is eligible, but artwork winning a prize in the Members’ Exhibition is ineligible to win a prize in the Annual Open Juried Exhibition in the same year.
  • Derivative work of artwork shown in a previous CLWAC Annual Open Juried Exhibition is not eligible.
  • A.I. (artificial intelligence) cannot be used to create photo references or used in any other manner in the development of the artwork

2-Dimensional Artwork

  • Eligible media: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Pastel, Drawing, Graphics, Collage, and Mixed Media.
  • Artwork, including frame, must not exceed 42” in width or height.
  • All 2-D work must be framed, wired and ready for hanging.
  • Gallery wrap is permitted (enter the same dimensions as your work size in the frame dimension fields).
  • Plastic glazing is required if metal frames are used and is recommended if work is shipped.
  • No artwork incorporating hazardous materials will be accepted.

3-Dimensional Artwork

  • Sculptors must submit 2 views (except for wall hangings.)
  • All sculpture must be light enough for one person to handle.
  • Wall-hung work must be equipped with a hanging device.
  • Ceiling-hung works or installation works are not eligible.
  • Do not submit very small sculptures. There are no small display cases for very small work.
  • Sculptors living within 50 miles of Salmagundi Art Club must provide their own pedestals or pay an additional $25 pedestal rental fee.

Receiving Day

Sunday, October 26, 9:30am–12:00 noon

Accepted works will be received only on the date and during the hours specified. Artists should include a brief 1–2-page resume/bio which will be displayed in a binder for the duration of the exhibition. Artwork must arrive unpacked, whether delivered by artist or agent, to The Salmagundi Art Club, 47 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10003. Shipper should receive work in advance to allow its timely transport to the gallery. The name given to your shipper must be identical to your online application. Two available shippers are:

Awards Totaling More Than $18,000

More than 40 awards will be given. All awards will be presented at the Awards Reception. Any winner who cannot be present should arrange a representative to accept the award on their behalf.

2-Dimensional Awards Jurors

Lea Colie Wight - Nationally recognized award winning artist, Lea earned a BFA from The Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1974. In 2003 she discovered Studio Incamminati, an intensive Atelier founded in Philadelphia by renowned artist Nelson Shanks and entered as a student. After completing her studies, Lea was invited to join the teaching staff rising to become one of the lead teachers at that school. Lea served as teaching assistant to Nelson Shanks at The Art Students League in New York and has served as lead instructor for various Studio Incamminati workshops as well as her own workshops. She has been awarded an Honor Award at the Portrait Society of America’s national competition in 2009 and in 2010 as well as a Certificate of Excellence in 2011. Her work has been featured in numerous publications. Lea maintains a studio in Philadelphia as well as Manasquan, NJ. and teaches workshops throughout the country.

Natalie Italiano - Signature member of the Portrait Society of America, Senior faculty member at Studio Incamminati Natalie Italiano is a contemporary realist painter whose work focuses on portraits, still life and animals. As her work evolves, she continually experiments to include abstract elements in her paintings. Recent work includes a series of birds with gilded backgrounds and playful narrative paintings featuring her granddaughter. She studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, as an apprentice with Nelson Shanks.

Susan Eley - Gallery owner and Director of Susan Eley Fine Art, located in Hudson, NY and nyc
Before establishing the Gallery, Susan Eisner Eley was an editor and writer for national and regional publications featuring articles on fine art, dance and travel. Eley worked in public relations and education at the Morgan Library & Museum, NY, the Mayor's Art Commission of the City of New York and interned at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy. She is also a former professional ballet dancer with the Feld Ballet, NY. Eley has a BA in Art History from Brown University and an MA in Visual Arts Administration from New York University.

3-Dimensional Awards Jurors

Olga Nielsen - Fellow of National Sculpture Society, and a Signature Status member of the Portrait Society of America. Born in Russia, Olga has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in the Delaware Valley and in national and international exhibitions, receiving many awards for her works. Olga believes in the importance of art education in Realism tradition, in teaching skills of representational art. She is on Faculty at the Delaware College of Art and Design in Wilmington, Delaware as a Portrait drawing instructor and at The Community Arts Center in Wallingford, Pennsylvania as a Portrait and Figure sculpture and drawing Instructor.

Padget Sutherland - Deputy Chief Development Officer, The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Padget works closely with Museum leadership to deepen and broaden engagement with current and prospective donors on an international scale. She holds a Masters degree in the History of Art, specializing in Venetian Renaissance Art, from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Art History from Washington and Lee University. Padget joined the Met in 2017, progressing through roles within the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art, where she formerly oversaw the Department’s Friends Group and Visiting Committee.

Acceptance Notification

Acceptance notification via email Friday, September 19, 2025. The email will include a label to be downloaded and attached to accepted work. Alternatively, use the label at the bottom of this prospectus.

Color Catalog

This year, en lieu of a printed catalogue, all of the works in this show, along with the award winners, will be available on our website: CLWAC.org

Sales

Work must be for sale; NFS is not allowed.

Every effort will be made to encourage sales. A contribution of 25% will be accepted by the CLWAC. No artwork can be listed as POR or NFS. The artist is responsible for sales tax and delivery of artwork to the purchaser.

Removal of Artwork

No artwork may be removed for the duration of the exhibition. Artists attending the Awards Reception on Friday November 14 may remove their work at the end of the evening by signing and returning the label from the back of their work. All other artwork must be removed on Saturday November 15, 2025 between 10:00am -1:00pm. Work not removed will be stored at artist's expense with D.A.D.

Benefit Reception

Benefit reception supporting The Metropolitan Museum of Art Travel and Research Fund

Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 5:30-8:00pm at the Salmagundi Club, featuring Linda Moore, award winning author, gallerist and museum board trustee.

A minimum donation of $50 per person benefits the Travel and Research Fund of The Met. Additional donations are welcome and very much appreciated.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (September 2, 2025.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
