Entry Fees
Eligibility
- Open to all NJWS Associate and Signature Members who have paid their 2026 Signature Membership dues.
For new membership or renewal please go to njwatercolor.org/membership. If you are uncertain if your dues are paid, please email [email protected]. - NJWS Members may submit one painting via the online entry process.
- Entries must be original, created entirely by the artist, in water-based media including watercolor, acrylic, casein, and gouache on paper, Yupo, Aquabord, Claybord or watercolor board. Collage elements must be made of paper, must be the work of the artist, and constitute less than 10% of the painting.
- No copies, prints, classwork or workshop creations, computer art, oils, water-soluble oils, textural materials, canvas, or nude paintings will be accepted.
- Artwork previously shown in any NJWS exhibition or show will not be accepted.
- All artwork must have been completed within the last four years: 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026.
- All entries meeting the eligibility criteria in this prospectus will be included in the online virtual gallery and be considered for awards.
Awards
- There will be separate categories for Associate and Signature Members.
- Each category will be judged separately with awards in each category as follows:
- 1st Place: $500
- 2nd Place: $400
- 3rd Place: $300
- 4th Place: $200
- Awards of Excellence: $100
- Both categories will be eligible for a “Best in Show” award of $750
- There will be an online drawing for a $100 art supplies gift certificate for any member who attends the Zoom Reception
Juror of Awards
Sales
- Request for sales will be forwarded to the artist who is solely responsible for the sale and delivery.
- Prices cannot be changed once submitted.
- NJWS receives no commission on sales.

Image and Filename Specifications
- File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
- Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
- Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
- Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
- File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
- File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.
Additional Entry Information
- You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
- After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and substitute your image up until the entry deadline (May 4, 2026.)
- Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
- Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
