The Pittsford Fine Art Open Show will hang in the Pittsford UPSTAIRS Gallery at 4 North Main Street, Pittsford NY. It is open Friday Noon to 5, and Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Pittsford UPSTAIRS Gallery is open Noon to 8 p.m. on First Fridays.

  • Open to all artists in USA and Canada.
  • Work must be original and wholly designed and executed by the artist within the last 2 years.
  • Work done in a workshop or class under the supervision of another artist is not eligible.
  • All two-dimensional subject matter of art and art mediums may be submitted (see Accepted Work below for more specifics); however photography and digitally-created art will not be accepted.
  • Overall size, including frame, must not exceed 16” x 20.”
  • Work must be ready to hang, gallery wrapped and/or framed.
  • No saw tooth hangers.

Entry Fees

  • For Professionals
    $35 for first entry, $25 for second entry.
    Max 2 entries allowed.
  • For Students
    $20 for first entry, $10 for second entry.
    Max 2 entries allowed.

    To enter as a student you must be either a high school student or enrolled in a full-time accredited associate, bachelors, or graduate program
Note: Pittsford Fine Art Gallery members are not eligible to apply for the show.

Accepted work

  • Must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, artist’s phone number, title of entry and price. See page 3 of the PDF prospectus (link below) for labels.
  • There is one general category which includes but is not limited to landscapes (including seascapes and urban scenes), figure and portraiture (including animals), still life (including floral, fruit, etc.) and abstract work.
  • Photography, digitally-created art and three-dimensional work will not accepted for this show.

Delivery of Accepted Work

Artwork must be hand delivered to Pittsford Fine Art on Wednesday August 28, 2024 between 12 noon and 5 p.m. unless otherwise pre-arranged.

If your work is selected for the show and you cannot drop it at the gallery, you may ship your work and it must arrive by Wednesday August 28, 2024. You must include a Prepaid Return Mailing Label with your shipped entry(s). Cash or checks are not accepted, no exceptions.

Return of Accepted Work

Unsold artwork must be picked up from Pittsford Fine Art on Sunday, September 29, 2024 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. unless otherwise pre-arranged. All accepted work must be displayed for the duration of the show, unless sold.

If entry was shipped, return will be made only with Prepaid return shipping label. Cost and correct address are the artist's responsibility.


Due care will be taken with all artwork. Pittsford Fine Art will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to exhibited work. Artists may independently insure their work to cover any loss or damage.


Awards will include $300 for overall Best of Show, along with other cash prizes.


Work must be for sale; NFS is not allowed.

All work must be priced for sale. Any artwork sold from the show will be assessed a 35% commission to Pittsford Fine Art to help defray the cost of the show.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed by the end of the day on August 16, 2024. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications before that time.

Please add [email protected] to your email safe senders list.

After notifications are sent, you may view the status of your entry in your ShowSubmit artist account’s Entry History. Accepted works will be notated by a green check.

If you do not receive your email, you may also view your notification letter using the View Notification link in your Entry History.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • Submit your original JPEG image files.
  • Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
  • Image must be displayed right side up.
  • You do not need to resize your image files.
  • You do not need to rename your image files.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (August 2, 2024.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
