Create art based on your favorite things. It can be anything your heart desires. Fish from your creative pond and let your imagination take over. The first 50 entries will be accepted.

Entry Fees
- AAWS Members may submit up to 2 artworks.
- $20 per artist for up to 2 works per artist
- We will accept the first 50 entries.
Entry fees must be paid online by the deadline using a credit card. Entry fees are not refundable.
Entry Requirements
- No piece may exceed 50 inches horizontally or 48 vertically, including frame, or 35 pounds in weight.
- All 2-dimensional works must be framed in a professional manner with wire attachment and be ready to hang.
- No “alligator” type hangers.
- Canvases must be framed, or gallery wrapped with no visible staples or unpainted canvas.
- Canvases with wet paint will not be accepted.
- Works on paper should be protected by glass or Plexiglas.
- Improperly presented work will not be accepted.
- This is a Family venue: no nudes or offensive subjects, please.
- All types of 2D fine art media accepted.
- 3D work may be considered if it can be hung securely on the wall and will be subject to approval.
- All work entered must be original art completed within the past three years and cannot have been displayed in previous Wachovia Gallery exhibits, unless it reflects the theme: My Favorite Things.
- Mass produced printed reproductions of paintings or drawings will not be exhibited.
- Hand-pulled prints, original digital prints and photographs are all acceptable.
- All work must be the exhibitor’s original idea and be created by the exhibitor.
Sales
Work may be for sale; NFS is allowed.
Artists set their own prices. Artist receives 70% of the sales price; AAWS retains a 30% commission. North Carolina sales tax is added to the sales price. If your work is not for sale, please designate it as “not for sale” (NFS) on the entry form and include the Insurance Value.

Virtual Gallery/Promotional Images
- Submit a photo with as little reflection as possible if your work is behind glass.
- AAWS reserves the right to use these photos for promotional purposes and display them online in the Virtual Gallery.
Art Labels
Cut out and attach the artwork labels in the prospectus securely to the back of your artwork for identification.
Artwork Drop-off and Pick-up
Please deliver and pick up work during the designated times. Late work will not be accepted. If you have special circumstances regarding art drop off or pick up, have a friend help you or contact Marsha Hierl, show curator, in advance: [email protected] or 336- 408-9739.

Insurance
AAWS, the Arts Council, and the Masonic Center for Winston-Salem will take every reasonable precaution to prevent loss of or damage to your work but will not be responsible for any loss or damage. Your personal homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy may provide coverage of your artwork. Check with your insurance agent.
Image and Filename Specifications
- File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
- Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
- Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
- Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
- File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
- File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.
Additional Entry Information
- You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
- After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (October 2, 2023.)
- Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
- Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
