Entry Fees

$34 USD – Adults
$11 USD – Youth (Ages 13-18)

Entry Fees are in USD and we have used an equivalent close to last year’s Canadian fees.

This year we looked at several online submission platforms for hosting an online call for entries. We chose ShowSubmit because it offers full service for our organization including a system for our Jurors to view an easy-to-use panel of images which will save us significant time. Another great feature of this platform is that it sends notifications to all artists who enter regarding acceptance or non acceptance. Artists will also be able to log in to their artist dashboard for viewing and editing their entries. Artist can edit their entry as much as needed, up until the deadline. We believe ShowSubmit provides the best user-friendly process to submit artwork for entry.

Jury Process

Our juror will use your digital photos to jury artwork. The juror will not see your original artwork. It is vital that you send the best photo that you can. Our juror will pick the winners of each category and only the ones the juror selects will be asked to display their artwork in the Fine Arts Show. Artists will be notified regarding their entry if selected by our Juror. The Winners List will be finalized after all pieces have been received and hung in the gallery. If a piece that was juried in for the gallery show has not been received, it cannot win an award.

General Criteria

  • Work must not be older than 3 years old; i.e. work must have been created after April 2021.
  • Original work only. You must be able to prove origin if asked (sketches & references). No prints.
  • If your artwork is larger than 24x36 inches, images will be displayed in a slideshow in the gallery.
  • For artwork to be displayed in the gallery, maximum size allowed for 2D artwork is 24x36 inches or 864 sq. inches without frame. This includes diptychs and triptychs.
  • Maximum size for 3D artwork is 8 cubic feet.
  • You are permitted one entry form and your entry fee allows up to 3 pieces to be entered. Diptych and triptychs are one entry and the pieces must be shown together in one image.
  • JPEG images of artwork must be submitted for jury process.
  • JPEG images must show only the artwork, with no frame or background.
  • JPEG images for 3D work may have 2 views of piece.
  • If your artwork is selected for display in the gallery, your artwork will need to be display ready and framed with a hanging wire or it will be disqualified. We cannot accept artwork without this because of potential for damage and insurance policy demands. Canvas stretched over a frame is acceptable. (The frame must be a minimum of 1" deep and must have a hanging wire.)
  • Late entries will not be accepted.
  • Our juror may eliminate or combine categories if not enough entries for a category have been received.
  • All work must remain on display for the duration of the Fine Arts Show.
  • If you are 13 to 18 years old, please enter in the Youth categories.

Original Art

Original art means work that you have conceived in your own mind. Copying from another’s work in any way shape or form is not permitted.

A project done in a workshop is not permitted. This ensures that the product you are presenting is 100% yours and has only your input in it. A piece that has been critiqued in an art group meeting is permitted.

Insurance

Insurance for artwork is the artist’s responsibility. All possible precautions are done to ensure security of work and in a secure facility.

JPEG Digital Photos

The JPEG photos are also a statement of what your art will look like when entered. If the entry does not match the photo, it will not be accepted. No substitutions. These photos should exclude the frame and any type of background. Artwork should be well lit with no shadows. The image should fill the photo. If the work is considered inappropriately presented in appearance (framing etc.) it is up to the discretion of the show co-coordinator on whether to accept the piece.

Artwork will be posted on our website

Photos of artwork that have placed in any category will be posted on our website. A copyright graphic will be used on each image and the images will not be available for download by the public.

Artwork can be sold at show (optional)

You have the option to list the price you want to sell your artwork for and then we will post your name, email address, and phone number on a label next to your work for any interested buyers to contact you directly. The sale will be between you and the buyer. We do not take any portion of the sale.
