LGAA announces the upcoming online 2024 LGAA Fall Members' Juried Show (MJS).

Juror

John Peck, a well-known portrait artist, graduated from the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. He teaches portrait and figure drawing at Stanford University (Continuing Studies), the Triton Museum of Art, and the Pacific Art League. John's paintings have been shown in galleries in London, Dublin, Florence, Davis, Charleston, and Santa Fe. He earned his B.S. in Physics from the University of San Francisco and Master of Architecture from the University of New Mexico.

Awards

$300 - Best in Show
$200 - First Place
$150 - Second Place
$100 - Third Place
$100 - Members' Choice
$25 x 8 - Honorable Mention

Exhibition awards will be limited to one (1) per member

Entry Fees

  • LGAA Members Only: $40 first entry, $10 per additional entry.
  • 3 entries maximum.
Entry and membership fees are non-refundable.

Members' Juried Show Details

  • The 2024 LGAA Online Juried Show is open to all registered LGAA Members, 18 years or older, whose dues are current.
  • Work(s) must be original and must have been completed within the last two years.
  • Maximum of three (3) pieces of artwork can be submitted to the show. The juror may choose up to three entries per artist.
  • All work(s) entered must not have been accepted for a previous juried competition or online juried show.
  • As this is an online show, there are no size restrictions on work(s) submitted.
  • Works do not have to be for sale (enter NFS on the entry form). LGAA will not take a commission on any work that is sold. All sales for any artwork will be between the artist and buyer. Please note: Any prices listed on submitted art cannot be changed after submission to the online website.
  • Entries may be representational or abstract work(s): 2D and 3D art, Drawing, Painting, Digital, Mixed Media and Sculpture.
Acceptable Mediums:
  • Painting: oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, egg tempera, encaustic, mixed mediums.
  • Digital: photography, video, digital prints.
  • Drawing: Conte Crayon, colored pencil, graphite, pen & ink, and scratchboard.
  • Sculpture: string, cast metal, fabricated metal, stone, glass, wood, and any fired permanent medium such as terra cotta, stoneware, porcelain, earthenware.
Unacceptable Mediums:
  • Digital mixed media created by AI apps/programs
  • Mediums that are fabric/fiber, wearable art or jewelry, functional ceramics, crafts, installations, video/films.
  • Art based on copyright-protected sources.
  • Art done in a class or under the tutelage of an art instructor.
  • Subjects that are nudes or adult themes such as war, violence, etc.

Agreement and Liability

  1. By submitting images to this juried show, you understand and agree that accepted images will be displayed on the show website and other social and/or print media.
  2. By entering this show artists acknowledge they own full copyright to the submitted work. LGAA is not liable for any copyright claim made against an entered work. Artists retain copyright to their image(s).

Sales

Works do not have to be for sale (enter NFS on the entry form). LGAA will not take a commission on any work that is sold. All sales for any artwork will be between the artist and buyer.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on October 7, 2024.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History (Accepted works will be notated by a green check.)

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • Submit your original JPEG image files.
  • Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
  • Image must be displayed right side up.
  • You do not need to resize your image files.
  • You do not need to rename your image files.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (September 24, 2024.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
