Eligibility 

  • Open to all artists in USA and Canada. 
  • Work must have been completed within the past two years.
  • Work must be original and wholly designed and executed by the artist. 
  • Work done in a workshop or class under the supervision of another artist is not eligible. 
  • All subject matter of art and art mediums may be submitted (see Accepted Work below for more specifics) however photography will not be accepted. 
  • Overall size must not exceed 20” in any direction, including frame.
  • Work must be ready to hang, gallery wrapped and/or framed. 
  • 3D work must be wall hanging.
  • No saw tooth hangers. 

Entry Fees

  • For Professionals
    $35 for first painting, $25 for second painting. 
    Max 2 paintings allowed.
  • For North Gallery Members
    $25 for one painting.
    Max 1 painting allowed.
  • For Students
    $20 for first painting, $10 for second painting.
    Max 2 paintings allowed.
    To enter as a student you must be either a high school student or enrolled in a full-time accredited associate, bachelors, or graduate program
Note: Pittsford Fine Art North Gallery members are invited to apply for the show but will be exempt from any juried awards.

Accepted work

  • Must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, artist’s phone number, title of painting, category for judging, and price. 
  • Valid categories for judging are Landscape (including seascapes and urban scenes), Figure and Portraiture (including animals), and Still Life (including floral, fruit, etc). 
  • Abstract works will be accepted for entry but must be categorized into one of the above categories for judging and awards.

Delivery of Accepted Work

Artwork must be hand delivered to Pittsford Fine Art on Sunday, October 1, 2023 between 11am and 5pm unless otherwise pre arranged. 

Return of Accepted Work 

Unsold artwork must be picked up from Pittsford Fine Art on Sunday, October 29, 2023 between 11am and 5pm unless otherwise pre-arranged. All accepted work must be displayed for the duration of the show. 

Waiver 

Due care will be taken with all artwork. Pittsford Fine Art will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to exhibited work. Artists may independently insure their work to cover any loss or damage. 

Awards

Over $1000 in cash prizes will be awarded. 
Awards will include an overall Best of Show, and multiple awards by subject category.

Sales

Work must be for sale; NFS is not allowed.

All work must be priced for sale. Any non member artwork sold from the  show will be assessed a 35% commission to Pittsford Fine Art to help defray the cost of the show.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on September 20, 2023.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (September 4, 2023.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
