Juror

Dominique Medici

Dominique Medici is a figurative oil painter based in Seattle. She studied in London and has exhibited both nationally and internationally. Medici has received awards from The Portrait Society of America, Art Renewal Center, Oil Painters of America, and Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club among others. Dominique has undertaken numerous portrait commissions and her work is displayed in many private collections throughout the US and Europe, Dominique has a passion for teaching and teaches workshops and online painting classes.

Entry Fees

  • PSA Members only: $35 for the first piece and $5 for each additional piece up to 3 pieces.
  • Entry fees are nonrefundable whether they are juried into the show or not.

Artist Eligibility

  • This Exhibition is a Portrait Society of Atlanta (herein, PSA) members only exhibition.
  • Prospective members are NOT REQUIRED to live in the state of Georgia, or the greater Atlanta region. Membership Application: portraitsocietyofatlanta.org.
  • Exhibiting members at the Juried Member level and higher are permitted to display business cards, and QR codes (linked to their website).
  • Any artist who has been juried into the exhibition, but is unable to deliver and display their artwork for the exhibition, will be removed from exhibition promotions.

PSA Accreditation

This exhibition qualifies for PSA status credit. Only members’ work not previously
juried into a PSA exhibit will receive accreditation points toward membership status.

Work Eligibility

  • Entries must be original, 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional fine art portraiture.
  • Entrants may submit up to three (3) entries.
  • No digital reproductions of originals (glicée, canvas prints), copies, or student/class work are permitted.
  • No photography or paintings over photographs.
  • No nudes.
  • Portraits must contain a human person, and at least an ear, eye or nose.
  • Pets are acceptable only when accompanying a human.
  • Entries must NOT have been exhibited in a PSA exhibition in the last 2 years; ever won first place in any previous PSA exhibition; or have been displayed in more than 2 prior PSA exhibitions. Exceptions are the Advisory Board contributions that are not juried.
  • There is no limit on the when an artwork was created.
  • The Portrait Society of Atlanta exhibition committee reserves the right to decline artworks that do not fall within the field of portraiture, or are deemed inappropriate viewing for children. Entries that do not adhere to the guidelines will not be juried in or judged. At delivery, any work that varies from the submitted images will be disqualified.

Artwork Display Requirements

  • Size limitations of Artwork without a frame:
    Minimum of at least 5” x 7”, and may not exceed 40” in either width or height.
  • All paintings must be ready for hanging, with D rings, and wire in place, in an appropriate gallery frame or gallery wrapped canvas. No sawtooth hangers or direct into drywall or stud devices will be accepted.
  • Accepted works need to include an identification card on the back with the following information: Title, Artist’s Name, Medium, Size, Email Address, Cell Phone number, and Price, if for sale.
  • If the artwork is Not for Sale (NFS), then state this along with the declared value.
  • All art must have a declared value even if Not for Sale.

Artwork Delivery to Roswell Visual Arts Center

Friday, March 14 - 9am-5pm
Monday, March, 17 - 10am-2pm

Please let the Exhibition Chair know which day you plan to drop off, and if you need to send your artwork. No entries may be shipped to the venue, but arrangements may be made for shipment. Instructions for shipping will be sent along with a Transport and Release Form upon acceptance.

All shipping expenses and insurance are the responsibility of the artist. Uline or FedEx art packaging with the art floating between soft foam is strongly recommended. Please consider whether or not you will be able to ship your artwork to and from the show prior to entering the show.

Artwork Removal from Roswell Visual Arts Center

Friday, April 18, 2025 - 10am–4pm

All works must be delivered and picked up, either by the artist or authorized representative, within stated times at Roswell Visual Arts Center. Finalists must make their own arrangements for hand delivery and hand pickup of their work from the venue. Artists are required to notify the Exhibition Chair if an authorized representative is picking up artwork on their behalf. Authorized representatives will need to provide identification at pickup. Works submitted to any PSA show MUST be displayed for the duration of the show – no substitutes and no early removal. Please inform your client of the dates for which a borrowed work will be on view.

Insurance

Insurance is the sole responsibility of the artist. PSA does not provide additional insurance and is not responsible for possible loss or damage to works. By entering, artists agree to not hold PSA or its volunteers liable for any loss or damage.

Sales

Works do not have to be for sale. Your price, or NFS, must be indicated on your entry. If sales occur, the commission split is as follows: 20% Roswell Visual Arts Center, 20% PSA, and 60% Artist.

Rights

The PSA and Roswell Visual Arts Center reserve the right to photograph and retain images of the exhibit solely for educational, promotional, and documentation purposes in print or on the internet. By entering the exhibition, you agree to all conditions herein.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on February 24, 2025.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History (Accepted works will be notated by a green check.)

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • Submit your original JPEG image files.
  • Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
  • Image must be displayed right side up.
  • You do not need to resize your image files.
  • You do not need to rename your image files.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (February 10, 2025.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
