General comments

This show is open to all active Pastel Society of New Hampshire members. Please note our member show is now using ShowSubmit to process member entries and accept entry fees.

Eligible work and information

  • All work must be at least 80% soft pastel.
  • Work must be completed within the last three years and not from a workshop or other teacher instruction.
  • Work cannot be exhibited in another show concurrently and must be for sale.
  • To encourage artists growth, paintings should not have previously won any award in this or other art exhibit/show.
  • Paintings should be ready to hang by wire, no sawtooth hangers.
  • All sales of artwork will be subject to a 25% commission (to benefit Mondadnock Center of History and Culture).
  • All monies (75% of sales) due to the artist will be paid within 30 days after the close of this exhibition.

Sales

Work must be for sale; NFS is not allowed.
  • All paintings must be for sale.
  • When a painting sells, as described in the Consignment Agreement (see prospectus download for details), the artist will receive 75% of the selling price directly from the Gallery,
  • PSNH will not be taking any commission on sales.

Entry Fee

  • Open to all active Members of PSNH.
  • $35 for 1 painting.
  • There is not an acceptance juror, all paintings are eligible.
  • As a paying 2025 member of PSNH, your $35 entry allows one painting to be submitted to this exhibit.
Entry fees are not refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.

Awards Judge

Jeanne Rosier Smith
Jeanne Rosier Smith is a designated Master Artist and Eminent Pastelist (Copley Society, PSA, IAPS) and a signature member of the American Society of Marine Artists and the American Impressionist Society, and has won many top national prizes including the IAPS Prix de Pastel. She’s been featured in Plein Air magazine, Pastel Journal, International Artist, and numerous other national art publications. She served as judge for the Pastel Journal’s Top 100 Landscape competition in 2023 and is a regular contributor to the Pastel Journal and other publications. Her work has shown in museums around the US and is in collections worldwide. After teaching pastel for two decades, she now offers instruction through EpiphanyFineArt.com.

I understand that although all possible care will be taken for the safety of works on display, the Pastel Society of New Hampshire and the Monadnock Center for History and Culture, their officers or agents will not be responsible for damage or loss of any kind. Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (June 6, 2025.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
