Eligibility

  • Open to all active members of PSNJ working in soft pastels (no oil pastels) to participate in this show.
  • All entries must be predominately (80%) executed in soft pastels.
  • Only original work, executed within the past five years and not previously exhibited in a PSNJ judged show is eligible.
  • All entries must be created independently by the artist from his or her own original reference materials or setup.
  • Work done in a classroom setting or workshop, under the guidance of an instructor or in an instructor’s presence, is not eligible.
  • Work may not be based on or directly derived from reference materials created or arranged by others, even if with permission, royalty-free, or not copyrighted.

Entry Requirements

  • All work, including frames, cannot be less than 12” or exceed 36” in either dimension.
  • Work must be framed in a professional manner with secure brackets & sturdy, taut wire.
  • No saw-tooth hangers.
  • Metal frames are not acceptable.

Entry Fees

$30 for 1 painting, $35 for 2 paintings, $40 for 3 paintings.

20% commission will be taken on all sales.

Entries

Each artist may submit up to 3 paintings with only 1 acceptance per artist. All paintings must be pre registered via ShowSubmit.com. Paintings juried into this show will count towards the artist’s PSNJ Signature Membership.

Sales

Work may be for sale; NFS is allowed.

20% commission will be taken on all sales.

Receiving

Friday, May 31, 11am–12pm

Reception

Sunday, June 30, 2pm–4pm. Awards will be presented at about 3:00pm.

Pick-up

Sunday, June 30, 2pm–4pm
(Suggest pickup close to 4PM at the end of the reception.)

No early pickups permitted
. There will be a storage fee of $5/day for late pick-up. If you cannot pickup, please make other arrangements and inform the chairperson in advance.

Signature Membership

Acceptance in this show will count towards Signature Membership status. In order to be eligible, members in good standing who participate must be juried into 3 shows within 5 years. PSNJ holds no liability for loss or damage to any artwork or frame. We suggest you provide your own insurance for the duration of this show.
  • I understand that this registration is for the specific painting(s) entered. No other paintings may be substituted in their place and must be identical to the jpgs submitted.
  • Final acceptance to PSNJ juried exhibitions will be upon delivery of work.
  • False representation of art submitted to PSNJ juried exhibitions and/or violation of these guidelines may result in art removal and suspension of exhibition privileges for a period of up to two years.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed by the end of the day on May 10, 2024. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications before that time.

Please add [email protected] to your email safe senders list.

After notifications are sent, you may view the status of your entry in your ShowSubmit artist account’s Entry History. Accepted works will be notated by a green check.

If you do not receive your email, you may also view your notification letter using the View Notification link in your Entry History.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • Submit your original JPEG image files.
  • Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
  • Image must be displayed right side up.
  • You do not need to resize your image files.
  • You do not need to rename your image files.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (May 1, 2024.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
