The Rochester Art Club 2023 All Members Fall Art Exhibition will open at Barnes & Noble, 3349 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY 14618 on Sunday, November 5, 2023. The show will continue through Friday, December 1, 2023.

Juror for Selection and Awards

Corey Pitkin, PSA, IAPS/MC

Corey Pitkin’s award winning work has been featured in The Pastel Journal, Art Renewal Center, Portrait Society of America, Pratique des Arts Magazine, and International Artist Magazine, and is held in collections across the world. He is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America where he also serves on the Board of Governors.

Corey has achieved Master Circle status with the International Association of Pastel Societies and assists with their technology needs. Pitkin teaches frequently online and regularly travels for in-person workshops. He currently resides in upstate New York with his wife Esther and children Anastasia and Xavier. coreypitkin.com

Entry Fee

  • Up to 4 pieces may be submitted. 
  • A non-refundable entry fee of $30 per artist is required, which covers 1 to 4 entries. 

Rules of Entry

  • This show is open to all RAC members.
  • All entrants must be a member in good standing as of January 1, 2023.
  • Entries must have been created within the last two years and may not have been shown at any previous RAC or other juried show within Monroe County.
  • All aspects of the entry must be the artist’s original work including subject, photography, composition, drawing and painting.
  • Entries may not be produced in any instructional class or workshop, or under the paid mentorship of another artist.
  • No diptych or triptych paintings, mechanical reproductions, photography, crafts or computer-generated art.
  • 3-D art is acceptable for this show if it can hang on the wall. No pedestals.
  • Nudes are NOT acceptable for this show.
  • All paintings must be dry, securely framed or gallery wrapped, and supported by picture wire only.
  • Sawtooth hangers are NOT allowed.
  • Please make sure that your wire ends are covered with tape to prevent injuries to the hanging committee. 
  • Fill out and attach labels on the last page of the prospectus (download link below). 
  • The four pieces submitted should have the maximum combined diagonal measurement of 80”, including matte and frame. Please see the diagram on page 4 of the prospectus if you are unsure how to do this.
We reserve the right to refuse artwork that does not meet these guidelines.

  • Rochester Art Supply Award ($50 Rochester Art Supply gift card).
  • 6 Juror Awards ($50 Rochester Art Supply gift cards).
  • 6 Merit Awards ($25 Rochester Art Supply gift cards). 
Only one award per member is allowed. 

Sales

Work may be for sale; NFS is allowed.
All sales of paintings are to be handled by the individual artist. All artwork must remain on exhibit until the end of the show.

The artist grants permission to reproduce work for digital publicity purposes. Copyright will be attributed to the artist. Entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with all conditions set forth in the prospectus and entry form and is your commitment to participate.

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on October 20, 2023.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History (Accepted works will be notated by a green check.)

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (October 9, 2023.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
