This annual show is a thank-you to all our members. It is a privilege for us to showcase your art in the Academy’s gallery. This is not a juried show and there is no submission fee.

To submit work, you must be a current member of the Academy as of April 9, 2025.

Exhibition Requirements

  • ONE piece may be submitted in any media. Work must not have been previously exhibited at the Academy and should preferably be something created in the last 3 years.
  • Framed work MUST be ready to hang using securely attached picture wire affixed to professional hanging hardware such as screw eyes or D-rings. Please, no tape, claw hangers, fishing line, or string. If your work is not framed or mounted properly, we may not be able to display it.
  • All artwork needs to be delivered (and picked up) in-person on the designated dates. Please arrange for a friend or representative to do this for you if you are unavailable.
  • All artworks must remain for the duration of the exhibit. Works must be removed promptly following the end of the exhibit on one of the specified removal dates.
Media: You may submit original artwork in virtually any 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional media, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, collage, mixed media, printmaking, encaustics, ceramic/pottery/stoneware, glass, metal, stone, wood, and other sculptural art media. For projected artworks, video, electrified or electronic media please contact [email protected] to discuss your requirements before submitting.

Exclusions:
  • No giclee prints or reproductions made from traditional media. Please submit original artwork only.
  • No diptychs or triptychs for this show, please.
Size Restrictions:
  • 2D/wall hung artworks should not exceed 30” in any dimension (height/width), including mat and frame, if framed in a traditional manner.
  • For unframed 2D/wall-hung artworks, 30” total in any dimension still applies.
  • Sculpture and other 3-dimensional artwork must be must be light enough for one person to handle easily and should not be larger than 30” in any direction (height/width/depth).

Submission of Artwork

  • Submission platform: ShowSubmit.com
  • You will need an artist account on ShowSubmit to enter the show. Be sure to include your contact information, including a mailing address, so we know where to send a check for a work that sells.
  • You will need to submit the following with your submission: A good quality photo, the title, year of creation, media, dimensions (framed and unframed, if applicable), and sales price. See “Image and Filename Specifications” (below) for details on the photo. High quality photos are preferred.
  • Optional: You may submit a short bio or artist statement, to be included in the “About the Artists” book on display during the exhibit. Or, you may email a CV or artist resume (PDF or Word document) to: [email protected].

Entry Fees

  • Free for Members.
  • ONE piece may be submitted in any media.

Sales

  • Works may be submitted for sale or as “NFS” (not-for-sale).
  • Although there are no price restrictions, experience has shown that work priced at $750 or less has the greatest chance of selling at an Academy show.
  • The Academy retains a 35% commission on the sales price, and artists receive 65%. Checks for sold artwork are usually mailed within two weeks of the end of the show.
  • If, during the show, and for a period of six months following its end, any visitor to our Gallery contacts you and subsequently purchases artwork from you, we ask that you consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Academy equal to 10% of the sale price.

Liability and Agreement

Insurance: The Academy has an insurance policy on artwork on display in the Gallery during the period of exhibition. The Academy insures work up to a maximum value of $5,000 per item while on its premises. If the insurance value of any individual piece exceeds $5,000 the Lender should arrange for a special insurance rider to cover the excess. Insurance for work during transport to and from the Academy is the responsibility of the Lender.
Promotion: Images of accepted artwork may be used by The Academy for publicity, advertising, or other purposes. Photos of the reception and exhibition, including photos of artists and installed art may be used by The Academy for publicity unless artist requests otherwise.
Agreement: When you submit a work of art for this exhibition you are agreeing to the terms and conditions, including insurance and sales commission.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • After your entry is submitted, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (April 9, 2025.)
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
