À l’occasion de son 40e anniversaire, la Société des Pastellistes de France organise un concours international de pastel.

Celui-ci est ouvert à tous, à partir de 18 ans, excepté les artistes ayant exposé dans les salons de la Société des Pastellistes de France.

Le concours a pour but de découvrir et de contribuer à promouvoir les plus beaux talents parmi les pastellistes du monde.

Les œuvres des dix premiers finalistes seront exposées sous leur forme originale durant l’été 2024 au 23e Festival international de pastel de Feytiat (France).

Conditions de participation

Ouvert à tous, à partir de 18 ans, excepté les artistes ayant déjà exposé dans les salons de la Société des Pastellistes de France.
  • Trois œuvres doivent être présentées au concours, et en un seul envoi.
  • Une seule œuvre sera sélectionnée par le jury.
  • Les artistes sélectionnés s’engagent à envoyer physiquement l’œuvre choisie par le jury. Dans le cas contraire, il seront disqualifiés et les prix ne lui seront pas attribués.
  • Les travaux présentés doivent intégrer au minimum 80 % de pastel.
  • Les travaux présentés doivent être des originaux. Les copies d’autres artistes ou de photos publiées ne sont pas acceptées. Les travaux réalisés à partir de photos doivent l’être à partir de vos propres photos.
  • Les travaux réalisés lors d’un stage de pastel ou sous la direction d’un artiste ne sont pas acceptés.
  • Tous les travaux présentés ne doivent pas avoir été réalisés depuis plus de deux ans.
  • Aucune candidature soumise postérieurement ne sera retenue.
  • Les inscriptions incomplètes ne seront pas retenues pour la participation au concours.
Le manquement à une seule de ces règles entrainera la disqualification de l’œuvre.

Inscription

  • L’inscription se fait en ligne obligatoirement sur le site www.ShowSubmit.com
  • Rendez-vous sur le site, connectez-vous à votre compte artiste (ou créez un compte si vous n’en avez pas), cliquez sur le bouton Nouvelle Entrée et choisissez le concours « Nouveaux talents de la SPF ». Suivez les instructions d’inscription.

Droit à l’image

Les dix lauréats autorisent l’utilisation du droit à l’image nécessaire à la communication de la Société des Pastellistes de France ainsi qu’à ses partenaires et aux médias qui rendront compte du concours.

Frais de participation au concours

  • Le règlement des frais de participation se fait en dollars compte tenu de la localisation de la plateforme ShowSubmit.
  • Montant : 50 $ pour les trois œuvres (environ 45,50 €).
  • Les frais de participation au concours ne sont en aucun cas remboursables.

Jury et sélection

  • Les lauréats seront sélectionnés par un jury indépendant dont les décisions n’ont pas à être motivées et sont sans appel.
  • Les dix lauréats recevront une notification par email lorsque seront achevées la sélection des œuvres et l’attribution des prix.
  • L’information sera disponible sur le site internet de la Société des Pastellistes de France.

Attribution des prix aux dix lauréats

Chaque lauréat exposera l’œuvre sélectionnée par le jury lors du 23e Festival international du pastel de Feytiat (France), qui se tiendra du 1er juillet au 31 août 2024.

  • 1er prix : 1 coffret de pastels GIRAULT et la somme de 1 000 €
  • 2e prix : 800 €
  • 3e prix : 600 €
  • 4e prix : 200 €
  • 5e prix : 200 €
  • 6e prix : 200 €
  • 7e prix : 200 €
  • 8e prix : 200 €
  • 9e prix : 200 €
  • 10e prix : 200 €

Remise des prix

La proclamation du palmarès et la remise des prix se feront lors du vernissage du 23e Festival international du pastel de Feytiat. Toutefois, les lauréats ne pouvant se déplacer ou résidant hors de France recevront leur prix par chèque, virement bancaire ou par PayPal.

Envoi de l’œuvre sélectionnée

Si l’un de vos travaux est sélectionné pour l’exposition, les informations concernant l’adresse d’expédition vous seront communiquées par e-mail.

L’envoi du pastel sélectionné devra se faire sans encadrement et à la charge du lauréat. L’encadrement et le retour de l’œuvre seront payés par les organisateurs.

English Translation

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the SPF (Société des Pastellistes de France) is organizing an international pastel contest.

The competition is open to everyone from the age of 18 with the exception of the artists who have already exhibited in any SPF (Société des Pastellistes de France) shows.

The aim of the competition is to discover and help promote the finest talents among the world's pastel artists.

The top ten artworks finalists will be exhibited in 2024 during the 23rd Feytiat International Pastel Show (France).

Terms and conditions

Open to everyone from the age of 18 with the exception of the artists who have already exhibited in any previous SPF (Société des Pastellistes de France) shows.
  • Each artist must present three artworks.
  • This is an in-person exhibition and the 10 selected artists will be expected to ship their work.
  • If selected, the artist agree to ship the selected work. Failure to ship their work will forfeit any awards.
  • No more than one painting per artist will be accepted by the jury.
  • Work must be in dry pastel, 80% at a minimum if mix media. No oil pastel.
  • Work must be original, not copied from other artists or published materials and from your own reference.
  • Work that was done in a classroom or workshop scenario is ineligible.
  • All work must have been created within the last two years.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline.
  • Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
Failure to meet any of the requirements for eligibility may result in the artwork not being juried

Image Rights

By submitting images to this juried opportunity, you understand and agree that accepted images will be displayed on the SPF and Sponsors websites, Facebook page, and other social and/or print media.

Entry Fee

  • The entry fee is in US dollar due to the location of Showsubmit.com
  • The entry fee is $50.00 for the three images (around 45,5€).
  • 3 images must be submitted by an individual artist.
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.

Selection panel and Juror of awards

  • Paintings will be selected for the exhibition by an independent jury. The jury shall decide at is sole discretion and shall not be obliged to justify its decision.
  • The ten selected artists will receive a notification by email when the jurying and judging are complete.
  • Please add [email protected] to your email safe senders list.
  • Posting on the SPF Website will occur shortly after.

Awards

Each artist selected artwork will be exhibited during the 23rd Feytiat (France) International Pastel Show, July 1st–August 31st, 2024.

  • 1st price award : 1 GIRAULT Pastels Box and 1 000 €
  • 2nd price award : 800 €
  • 3rd price award : 600 €
  • 4th price award : 200 €
  • 5th price award : 200 €
  • 6th price award : 200 €
  • 7th price award : 200 €
  • 8th price award : 200 €
  • 9th price award : 200 €
  • 10th price award : 200 €

Award Ceremony

The results proclamation and the award ceremony will be held during the Feytiat 23rd International Pastel Show Grand Opening.

If the artist cannot be present, the award recipient will be paid by check or by PayPal transfer.

Sending the selected artwork

If your work is accepted, shipping information will be provided in the acceptance email.

The selected pastel should be sent without a frame and at the winner’s expense. The framing and return of the artwork will be paid for by the organizers.

Participation in the competition implies unreserved acceptance of these rules.

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on March 15, 2024.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History.

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
  • Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
  • Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
  • Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
  • File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
  • File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (January 15, 2024.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
