Awards
Juror of Selection
Entry Fee
- Members: $35 for up to 3 images
Members must be current with 2022 dues as of July 30, 2022. - Non-Members: $45 for up to 3 images
Exhibition Requirements
- Open to artists in the USA only
- 3 paintings can be submitted: (See Eligible Artwork below for details) Please
note: The juror is not limited to choosing one painting per person. The juror may
choose up to 3 paintings per artist or none. - $35.00 for SPS Members entry fee for up to 3 images Members must be current with 2022 dues as of July 30, 2022.
- $45.00 for Non-Member entry fee for up to 3 images
- No special requirements for the size of digital images
- Resolution 300 dpi recommended
- Format is high res JPEG
- No special requirements for file names of images
- Paintings can either be for sale or not, please mark NFS if not for sale
- Once images have been submitted changes can be made until the entry deadline.
- No changes can be made after the entry deadline.
- SPS assistance on last minute submissions cannot be guaranteed
- Entry fees are not refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.
- Entries cannot be made past the deadline.
- Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
Eligible Artwork
- Cannot have been in previous SPS Members or International Exhibitions.
- Cannot be more than 3 years old, done in a class, or copied from published photos, or other artists' work.
- Must be at least 80% soft pastel (no oil pastels).
- Please include the “Substrate/Surface” used for your painting on the submissions form in ShowSubmit.
- Final sprays of acrylic or other sealants are Not acceptable. Pastel fixative is appropriate.
- Must be attractively framed under Plexiglas or glass. For shipped art works, Plexiglas is preferred.
- Can use regular glass, but SPS and the agent/Alpharetta Art Center are not responsible for any damage in shipping or handling for hanging.
- Frame size should not exceed 48” high by 40” wide.
- No saw tooth hangers or gallery clips.
- If mats are used, they must be white or off white. No colored mats.
- Paintings with colored mats can be accepted but will not be eligible for awards
Sales
- Alpharetta Art Center will receive a 15% sale commission on all sales.
- SPS will receive a 15% sale commission on all sales.
- Artists will receive 70%. Prices cannot be changed once work is accepted.
Additional Notification Information
Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on August 29, 2022.
You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and clicking tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History.
If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.
Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.
Image and Filename Specifications
- File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG image files. Other formats (e.g., PNG, TIFF) are not accepted.
- Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
- Orientation: Make sure your image is oriented correctly (right side up) so that the artwork appears in its intended viewing direction.
- Image Size: You do not need to resize your image files before uploading. The system will automatically resize them. Smaller images cannot be enlarged to meet the requirements, so ensure your images are high resolution before uploading.
- File Names: You do not need to rename your files before uploading them. The system will handle any file naming requirements.
- File Size: There is a 30mb maximum file size limit. Larger image files will take longer to upload and process.
Additional Entry Information
- You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
- After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (August 18, 2022.)
- Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
- Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
