Juror
Distinguished Professor of Art Emeritus Patricia Nelson’s education in metalsmithing and enameling began in Seattle at the University of Washington and continued at the State University of New York at New Paltz where she received her MFA.
Throughout her more than three decades at Ball State University, Patricia taught all aspects of metals and foundation design. She has been active in the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) and in the Enamelist Society where she currently serves as President. Patricia continues to exhibit her metal work and enamel work and to present lectures and workshops throughout the United States. She has received numerous awards and grants, including the Ball State University Outstanding Creative Endeavor and Outstanding Professor Awards, as well as grants from the Indiana Arts Commission. In 2014, Patricia was named as the first George and Frances Ball Distinguished Professor of Art.
Awards & Reception
All accepted artists will be invited to attend the exhibition opening reception and awards ceremony on Friday, February 28. The exhibition will be open to the public Saturday, March 1 through Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Entry Fees
- A non-refundable $25 entry fee is due for the submission of a single work of art, $35 is due for the submission of two works of art.
- Entry fees are non-refundable.
Entry Instructions
Artists may submit up to two works of art.
Eligibility
Professional Division:
Anyone who earns $4,000 or more per year in art sales, commissions, or prize
money, or who teaches art.
Avocational Division:
Anyone who earns less than $4,000 per year in art sales, commissions, or prize
money, or who does not teach art.
Ceramics, digital art, drawings, fiber, mixed media, paintings, prints, sculptures, metalwork, and photography. Digitally created art is accepted. Video and projected art are not eligible.
Submission Guidelines
- The work must have been completed in the past two years and not accepted previously for any juried exhibition at Minnetrista.
- No entry may exceed 60 inches in any direction and 100 pounds in weight.
- All two dimensional entries must be properly framed and ready to hang; no saw tooth hangers or clips will be accepted.
- Paint must be dry.
- A single entry may contain no more than four component parts.
- All works of art must be original.
- Art created as part of a class or copied from another artist's work will not be accepted.
Sales
All artists are encouraged to offer their artwork for sale. Minnetrista is solely responsible for all sales and will retain 40% of the selling price of each work sold. Artwork sold may not be removed until after the exhibition closes Sunday, May 4, 2025. Pickups may begin on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Image and Filename Specifications
- Submit your original JPEG image files.
- Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
- Image must be displayed right side up.
- You do not need to resize your image files.
- You do not need to rename your image files.
Additional Entry Information
- You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
- After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (January 31, 2025.)
- Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
- Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
