Entry Fee

You may enter ONE piece of work, the entry fee is $20.

Acceptable media include: oil, acrylics, watercolor, drawing, pastel, graphics, mixed media, photography, computer generated art, and sculpture.

Eligibility

Open to all current North River Arts members. Entries will be checked with current members list and nonmember entries will be denied unless membership is current.

    Winning Artwork will also be used to advertise the next year’s Members Show.

Exhibition Requirements

  • All works must be original.
  • Compositions based on published material or other artist’s work are NOT considered original and are not eligible.
  • Work executed in a workshop or under another artist’s supervision or based on another person’s photograph (even if a royalty/copyright free image or permission has been granted by the artist owning the copyright of the image) are NOT eligible.
  • Work must not have been exhibited in any previous NRAS exhibit.
  • NRAS reserves the right to reject work deemed unsuitable or that does not meet entry criteria.
  • Prints (reproduced from original artwork) are not acceptable.
IMPORTANT! Due to our large membership, and the size constraints of the gallery, we must strictly enforce a size limit for artwork to be hung on the walls. The total of height (one side) + width (one side) must not exceed 48” - including the frame.

Sales

Work may be for sale; NFS is allowed.

All forms of artwork are allowed. Artwork may be sold through this exhibit, with a 30% commission to NRAS. Work must not have been previously exhibited in a North River Arts exhibition.

About the Juror: Michael Evans

Michael Evans is an award-winning artist who returned to art as a means of expression after spending over 25 years in the financial services industry. In 1999 Michael started taking painting classes at the Attleboro Arts Museum. He has also taken part in a number of workshops.

Michael is a past member of the Board of the Pastel Painter’s Society of Cape Cod, where he served as Treasurer. He also served on the Board of Trustees of the Attleboro Arts Museum for 12 years and has chaired the annual fundraising auction committee since 2006.

He maintains a studio in Pawtucket, RI and has taught a variety of art classes at Hunakai Studio of Fine Arts in Foxboro, MA.

Michael was selected as an “8 Visions” artist at the Attleboro Arts Museum in 2020. In 2023 he had a solo show at True Grit Art Gallery in Middleboro, MA.

Michael is represented by Three Wheel Studio in Providence, RI, True Grit Art Gallery in Middleboro, MA, and The Next Door Gallery in Mansfield, MA.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • Submit your original JPEG image files.
  • Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
  • Image must be displayed right side up.
  • You do not need to resize your image files.
  • You do not need to rename your image files.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (September 11, 2024.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
