This is the 31st International Online Exhibition hosted by the Pastel Art Promotional Association of Taiwan (PAPAT). This is an online exhibition only and no work will be shipped.

About the Association

PAPAT was established in 2015 with a mission to advance the appreciation of pastel art in Taiwan. Initially, our focus was on showcasing local pastel artists through exhibitions. Over time, we recognized the opportunity to broaden our horizons and decided to invite talented artists from around the globe. By featuring international pastelists, we aim to enrich the public’s understanding of pastel art and bring diverse artistic perspectives to Taiwan.

Along with the above 8 winners, 10 additional spaces will be selected for the opportunity of collaborating with POST WINGS https://www.postwings.art/exhibition where your artworks may be displayed in various different channels (could be cruises, airlines…different travel methods). *More details to be announced later.

Artist Eligibility

  • All pastel artists 18 years or older.
  • By submitting their application, each submitting artist attests to full copyright ownership of the entered works

Eligible Work

Please read carefully to make sure your work meets the following entry requirements.
  • Works must be in dry pastel. No oil pastels. Mixed media must be predominantly dry pastel.
  • The top layer of the painting should be at least 80% dry application of pastel.
  • Work must be original, not copied from other artists or published materials and from your own reference. Any reference provided by an instructor is not eligible, including an instructor- provided photo, still life setup or model setup.
  • Work that was done in a classroom or workshop scenario is ineligible, including YouTube videos.
  • All artwork must be originally drawn and not created on top of any type of photographic image.
  • Paintings of nudes will be considered for acceptance.
  • Submitted image should not include the frame.
  • Work may not have been accepted in any previous national or international exhibitions.
  • All works must be created within the last 2 years (no work done earlier than November 18, 2022, is allowed)
  • No limit in artwork sizes.
  • Works created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) software are NOT ELIGIBLE and will be disqualified.
  • The artist retains copyright to their image(s), however, by submitting to this show, the artist consents to PAPAT's use of the images for publicity (including future PAPAT event promotion) and archival purposes.
  • Failure to meet any of the requirements for eligibility may result in the artwork not being juried.
PAPAT reserves the right to exclude from exhibitions any artwork deemed offensive, or any artwork that violates the laws of Taiwan, or of state or local governments.

Entry Fee

  • The entry fee is $35.00 for the first image and $10.00 for each additional image.
  • Up to 5 images may be submitted by an individual artist.
Entry fees are not refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.

Acceptances

Up to 5 entries may be submitted. No more than one painting per artist will be accepted for the exhibition. Paintings will be selected for the exhibition by the jury. All Artists will receive notification by email when the jurying and judging are complete.

Payment of Awards

All payments are in USD.

參賽資格

  • 所有18歲或以上的粉彩藝術家。
  • 提交申請的藝術家需聲明對所提交作品擁有完整的著作權。

符合資格的作品

  • 請仔細閱讀以確保您的作品符合以下參賽要求。
  • 作品必須使用乾粉彩。不接受油粉彩。混合媒材作品必須以乾粉彩為主。

注意事項

每位藝術家最多可提交5幅作品。每位藝術家僅能有一幅畫作得獎。畫作將由評審委員會選擇。所有藝術家將在評審和裁判完成後通過電子郵件收到通知。

Additional Notification Information

Notifications will be emailed and posted in your ShowSubmit account by the end of the day on December 2, 2024.

You may view the notification in your ShowSubmit account by logging in and tapping the Notifications at the top right of the screen, or in your Entry History (Accepted works will be notated by a green check.)

If you do not receive your email, login and view the notification in your account. We cannot respond to inquiries regarding the status of notifications.

Note: Entries made prior to 2023 may not display the View Notification link.

Image and Filename Specifications

  • Submit your original JPEG image files.
  • Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the work itself.
  • Image must be displayed right side up.
  • You do not need to resize your image files.
  • You do not need to rename your image files.

Additional Entry Information

  • You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card using our secure checkout system.
  • After your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry, edit artist and image information, and add or substitute images up until the entry deadline (November 18, 2024.)
  • Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline.
  • Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
