Upon acceptance artists will be required to show proof of membership (membership card, cancelled check, or email from society president). A current list of IAPS member societies can be viewed at http://www.iapspastel.org.
  • ORIGINAL ARTWORK ONLY. Work must be original, not copied from other artists or published materials.
All artwork must be originally drawn and not created on top of a base photo or print.
  • All work must be at least 80% soft pastel. No Oil Pastels. Mixed media must be predominantly (80%) dry pastel.
  • All entries must be submitted under glass or Plexiglas.
  • All work must be for sale.
  • All work must have been created within the last two years.
  • Paintings of nudes will be considered for acceptance
  • Works done under supervision (such as in a workshop or class) are not eligibl

  • Work may not have been accepted in any previous IAPS Exhibitions. This does not include IAPS Member Society shows.

Failure to meet any of the requirements for eligible work may result in the work not being juried. Artwork submitted and accepted into this show that is found to have been shown in a previous IAPS exhibition will be rejected and one point will be taken from the point total of the Artist. If this is a second infraction, the Artist will receive a two-year ban on entering future IAPS shows. IAPS reserves the right to exclude from exhibitions any artwork deemed offensive, or any artwork that violates the laws of the United States, or of state or local governments. No substitutions; the work represented on the entry form and JPEG will be included in the show catalog and must be the work submitted to the exhibition. Artists who do not send work after it is included in the catalog will not be eligible to enter IAPS exhibitions for a period of 2 years.

Image Specifications

All images must be high quality jpeg (jpg) image files. Set your camera to the highest possible quality image, use good lighting on your painting without any glass in front of it, and use a tripod for your camera. Once the photo is taken, you must crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual painting; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the painting itself. Please save at 300 dpi resolution, with a size of 900 pixels on the longer side of the image (i.e. for a horizontal format, the width should be 900 pixels; for vertical format, the height will be 900 pixels; for a square format both dimensions are 900 pixels.). The upload system will not accept very large files, so you must reduce the native image size to these specifications.

Please consult the prospectus and the information provided on the entry page in the Image Preparation Tutorials if you need guidance with your image preparation.

Prepare your images using these specifications BEFORE you start the entry process!

Filename Instructions

Adjust your filenames BEFORE you begin the entry process!
